Letter To The Editor: Trump Won -- Now Let Him Govern

Dear editor: Republicans’ rush to judgment on President Trump’s cabinet nominees is astonishing, irresponsible and hypocritical, but typical of a party that can never rally behind its leadership and govern with collective focus and clear purpose.

Dear Editor:

Regarding Ray Hunkins’ November 16th guest column:

Republicans’ rush to judgment on President Trump’s cabinet nominees is astonishing, irresponsible and hypocritical, but typical of a party that can never rally behind its leadership and govern with collective focus and clear purpose.

President Biden’s nominations were confirmed without one rejection, supported in nearly every case by numerous or most Republican Senators.

Many observers, myself included, were appalled at the utter incompetence and obvious, gross unsuitability of many of those Biden nominees, and appalled that there was no unified Republican objection to any.

Now we see clearly in retrospect that most or all of these Biden “leaders” performed abysmally - several should be investigated and prosecuted for dereliction of duty, criminal malfeasance and/or treason.

Mr. Hunkins and all Republican officials must summon the humility to acknowledge the will of the American people, and serve that will.

With Wyoming in the lead, Americans voted overwhelmingly for Donald Trump, whose mandate is broad and deep, and his mission far-reaching and crucial if we are to correct the course of a nation driven into precipitous decline by the Democrat Left and the obscenely bloated, out-of-control, Left-dominated bureaucratic state.

A vital element of Trump’s mission comprises the dismantling, purging and rebuilding of the monster federal bureaucracy.

This great challenge cannot be surmounted if Republican representatives impede the President again, as they did 2016 - 2020.

With Trump’s resounding 2024 election, we are embarked on a great, new revolution in America, a revolt against Leftist lawlessness and unconstitutional governance.

This peaceful revolution is unavoidable if we are to save our nation, but it will be neither easy nor painless.

Mr. Hunkins and all of his Republican colleagues at state and federal levels should forbear drawing attention to themselves by summarily, publicly rejecting Trump’s nominees.

Rather, they should summon the courage to embrace the battle and join with all of us to win back our country.

The Republican Party must do everything in its power to support the new President in his momentous undertakings.

Sincerely,

John Hoak
