Dear editor:
Dave Simpson is spot-on about the Democratic Socialists.
They say it is about our youth wanting affordable housing, education, child care, medical care, jobs that pay a living wage and retirement.
Then perhaps these people should go live in Venezuela, Cuba or Brazil and other socialist countries where all this was promised the people and see how that worked out for them.
A friend of mine was in Brazil for 6 months and couldn't wait to get back to the freedoms of the USA, including his wife who is Brazilian and would NEVER go back.
It is those with money that provide jobs, goods and services that we the people enjoy.
We all have the same freedoms to pursue life and make a living, some have more energy and thought, while others just status quo.
That is NOT the fault of the 1% you complain about who went above and beyond.
Most worked hard to get where they are at, some inherited it from their families who worked hard to get it to begin with.
Democratic Socialism did NOT give it to them, on the contrary, Democratic Socialism would have taken it from them as well as the opportunity to do so, as everything belongs to the government
Thank God for our freedoms.
Cheryl Hobson,
Casper
