Could this be the craziest presidential election campaign I have ever seen – after watching 16 of them over my lifetime?

And it has the possibility of getting even crazier.

First was the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.

Second, there was the expose’ showing how inept the Secret Service detail was in protecting Trump.

Third, you then had a huge Republican convention party.

Fourth, then you had Joe Biden resigning as a candidate.

Lastly, you have the national media crowning Kamala Harris as the second coming. Whew!

And that was just over an 11-day period from July 13 to July 24.

What A Scene

Watching our senior senator John Barrasso chasing down the Secret Service Director and berating her was my personal high point for craziness this past week.

The assassination attempt of former President Trump was the biggest security snafu in the history of the Secret Service since President Lincoln was killed. Barrasso was totally justified in seeking answers.

That woman should have been fired. She should be in jail for dereliction of duty.

Barrasso gained a lot of points for trying to get some answers from this incompetent idiot (who has since resigned) who headed one of our most important agencies.

It is very easy to draw a conclusion that Trump’s SS detail was purposely under-manned. It was stunning to see him being pushed into a Suburban by three short gals, all with the same ponytails. Three women? We favor diversity but this is a dangerous business.

My question is about how our government sniper killed that Crooks kid almost immediately after he shot Trump. Why did he not preemptively shoot him? Were they under woke orders to not shoot until the guy shot first – sounds like pretty awful security planning to me.

Out here in hunting country of Wyoming, we know this kid had a point-blank range shot. It was a fish in a barrel shot. Incredible that Trump survived.

How To Protect

I know a Wyoming man who used to be a gunsmith who built long-range rifles. He was featured in a hunting magazine 20 years ago for killing a prairie dog from 2,156 yards away! That is more than a mile.

How can you defend against that kind of firepower?

You obviously do not need that kind of security if a knucklehead punk can climb up on a roof just 140 yards away and shoot point-blank at a former president?

Less than an hour before Trump was shot, I was speculating to my granddaughter and her new husband that it would be a miracle if either Trump or Biden got through this campaign without dying.

Both candidates were hated so much.

I thought some Democrats might kill off Joe Biden, but they just neutered him and forced him to resign as a candidate.

Joe is so feeble, now I worry about our country. Now that everyone is in unanimous agreement about the limited brainpower of the current chief executive, will some other new international crisis come along?

Red Versus Blue

I doubt I have ever seen the country so divided. This will be a close race.

And despite all the confidence expressed by the Republicans, I believe the Dems still have a real chance to pull this off.

The 12 million illegal aliens that arrived in the USA over the past three years could be the difference-makers. Somebody has their records and knows how to round them up on election day.

Technically they should not be allowed to vote but I do not trust the Democrat election officials in the key swing states. They are much better at these election shenanigans than Republicans are. It could tilt an election as close as this one appears to be.

Kamala Harris may be one of the most inept candidates to lead a major ticket in decades. During these next 100 days, I will predict that because of her gaffes, Democrat leaders will yearn for the good old days when dazed and confused Joe was their standard bearer.

She is a one-trick pony – abortion. Conservative men and women will call her out for her extreme views.

Kamala Harris also owns the border crisis, which ranks near the top of major issues for most voters. The media will deny her complicity in this fiasco but it belongs to her as much as to President Biden.

She hates fossil fuels. As a San Francisco politician, she is the antithesis of just about anything from Wyoming. Has she ever been here? Does she even know we exist?

Hillbilly Elegy

JD Vance, the 39-year old Vice-President nominee running with Trump, is a breath of fresh air. What a life story!

I grew up in a place similar to the backwater where he grew up. His is a great story that was made into a great book and perhaps the most depressing movie ever made.

To wrap this up, let’s talk about age. Age is a crazy factor in all this.

Now Trump is viewed as the “too old” candidate. He is almost 20 years older than Kamala.

Many hoped Harris might be the first non-baby boomer president ever. But she is a boomer by just a few months. She is 20 years older than Vance!

Despite what my Republican friends think, I believe Harris is a formidable candidate and will run a strong race. Right now, this race is 50:50.

Stayed tuned. The wackiest political show on earth is heading into its final 100 days.
