Dear editor:

This letter is in response to Dave Simpson's column which asks 'Wouldn't you think...?'

Simpson wants to know if the reader, or Democrats, could see the merit in something this failing president has done. What about the borders The inhumane brutality in Minneapolis was a plan?

Perhaps we can look at the issue with objectivity. I would like to use Simpson’s own examples to highlight my rebuttal of this president’s actions.

"I'm thinking of two lasting images," (referring to Biden’s tenure) Simpson states: "One was of thousands of illegal immigrants gathered under a Texas highway overpass at the border, at night, looking like something out of 'Apocalypse Now.'"

The lasting image that I can clearly remember, having watched it in real time, is of the storming of the United States Capitol on January 6.

The terrifying mob, egged on by Trump, sought to overturn a legitimate election. The looters and rioters looked like something out of “Apocalypse Now.”

Speaking of human feces, that was a Jan 6th-er signature. Simpson references illegals’ ‘intent to rape and kill innocent American teenage girls.’

The pot calling the kettle black, it seems, as more and more evidence appears that there are those tied to this administration who have been credibly accused of similar actions.

Trump himself is an adjudicated rapist, has committed assault, and is guilty of much of what you accuse 'illegals' of doing.

A clock is right twice a day, but that's accidental. Also, two things can be correct at the same time.

As for 'Come one, Come all,' how about a cabinet who by any professional standards do not fit their qualifications for their jobs. The only qualification is a toxic loyalty to a man who is power mad.

Trump has no clear regard for others. Everything he does is to benefit himself and his greedy, venal friends and family. For the good of the country? Please.

This president is corrupt, period. I don't see the value of anything he has done, because there is no truth or integrity in his decision-making.

He is a liar, and a cheat. He has never been faithful in his marriages, or his business dealings. His primary objective is revenge and destruction.

I don’t ever condone political violence, but his assassination incidents seem highly suspect: why is there little follow-up on these incidents or the people accused of the crimes?

Wouldn't I think... give him the benefit...? No. He's an evil guy. He has been his entire life.

Currently, he's unfit, unwell, unhinged. ‘Loopy’ as you describe Biden. He started a war of choice, without congressional approval, and is now endangering us all with his antics in the Strait of Hormuz. He created this problem.

He doesn't care about gas or grocery prices for the average American; he just said so. Heaven help us.

Sincerely,

Joanne Brings, Buffalo
