Wouldn't you think Democrats could at least give Trump credit for closing the border?
Can't we even expect THAT?
That would be the border Joe Biden threw open to anyone and everyone who wanted to come to our country, good people, bad people, dangerous people.
Just let 'em all in regardless of criminal history, regardless of intent to sell drugs, regardless of intent to rape and kill innocent American teenage girls out for a jog. Come one. Come all.
Let 'em in regardless of their inability to drive trucks and read road signs at the same time. Regardless of histories of drunk driving.
Let 'em all in, Joe! Maybe they'll vote for Democrats someday. And you can count them in the census right away. Woo Hoo!
I'm thinking of two lasting images from Joe Biden's loopy era of border control.
One was of thousands of illegal immigrants gathered under a Texas highway overpass at the border, at night, looking like something out of “Apocalypse Now.”
The other was the video of illegal immigrants storming hopelessly outnumbered border agents, unable to slow the mob of illegals.
Great job, Joe. And now your fellow Democrats fight every effort to clean up the immigration nightmare you created.
And we all remember your hopeless Homeland Security secretary insisting the border was secure, even as millions crossed. How oblivious can you be?
Wouldn't you think normal Americans in cities like Minneapolis and Newark would side with officials trying to get illegals with criminal histories off their streets and out of our country? Rather than siding with the screaming mobs bent on blaming Americans first, not the people here illegally?
Wouldn't you think, after three frightening attempts on the president's life – one coming within a fraction of an inch of killing him – that Democrats would at least consider building that ballroom at the White House, instead of using the media and the courts to fight it every step of the way? Even when much of the cost will be borne by private donations?
Wouldn't you think our Democrat friends could at least consider the need for a large-scale gathering place at the White House, so visiting dignitaries don't have to eat in a tent at state dinners, and use portable toilets?
Wouldn't you think that the concept of “sanctuary cities” would be wearing thin by now, with the realization that the only sanctuary being offered is to people who camp out on sidewalks in open-air drug markets? Don't Democrats have to use sidewalks littered with used needles, human feces, and garbage, in dangerous areas ruled by drug dealers and gang members?
That's some kind of sanctuary, being offered to all the wrong people.
And wouldn't you think liberal leaders of big cities could temporarily overcome their hatred for Trump and accept federal help to curb crime on their streets and stem weekend death tallies in cities like Chicago?
Especially when crime in Washington, D.C., has been cut dramatically thanks to the efforts of Trump and his administration. And yet, incompetents like Chicago's Mayor Brandon Johnson steadfastly refuse help, preferring deadly crime over having anything to do with Donald Trump.
Wouldn't you think that the lower gasoline prices, until very recently, for the first year of Trump's term would at lease give liberals pause in opposing virtually everything he does?
And now, wouldn't you think that any normal American would see the common sense of putting up with higher gasoline prices temporarily, compared to the mayhem the nuts in Iran would unleash, if allowed to develop nuclear weapons?
And wouldn't you think some adult in the Democratic Party would stand up against this disgusting insistence of using the F-word in speeches, videos, and even campaign slogans from their party chairman? (I'm against Trump using that word, too, but he has only done it a couple times in public comments, falling far short of a campaign strategy.)
Good grief. With the success of Trump-endorsed candidates in this year's primary elections, wouldn't you think more of us could get behind the Trump agenda that so many Americans obviously support? For the good of the country?
Wouldn't you think?
Too much to ask, I guess, in a country where almost half the voters can't get beyond their toxic hatred of this particular president.
Heaven help us.
