A 12-year-old boy died overnight Monday after a one-vehicle rollover in Campbell County, authorities say.

The boy, identified as Elthon Caballero, was pronounced deceased after midnight at Campbell County Memorial Hospital.

Emergency responders used life-saving measures on him until that point, Campbell County Coroner Paul Wallem told Cowboy State Daily on Tuesday.

It’s unclear what caused the crash, but the driver did not show signs of intoxication, said Sgt. Dan Maul of the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver and the boy were the only occupants in the vehicle, and the boy was ejected in the rollover.

Deputies received the report at 11:11 p.m.; the crash happened shortly before on Adon Road north of Gillette.
