The man shot in a trailer on the Wind River Indian Reservation last month had Delta-9 in his system and died of homicide, according to a report by the Fremont County Coroner.

Michael Standing Elk, 42, died of multiple gunshot wounds the morning of Aug. 9, says a docket the coroner sent Tuesday to Cowboy State Daily.

He stood 6 feet, 1 inch tall, weighed 250 pounds, and had black hair and brown eyes.

Standing Elk’s body contained multiple variants of Delta-9 THC, a drug with an intoxicant similar to the chemical in marijuana.

The Bureau of Indian Affairs is investigating the homicide. The agency has not yet publicly acknowledged the incident, telling Cowboy State Daily Aug. 25 it does not comment on ongoing investigations.
