There are no official suspects in a beating, car theft and arson that happened overnight Saturday in Riverton.

Two men beat up an elderly man who was walking home from a local bar in the early morning hours Sunday, according to the Riverton Police Department’s public call log.

The men accosted the older man in the back parking lot of a furniture store and knocked him to the ground at about 1:30 a.m., the call log says. They took his car keys, cellphone and cigarettes.

The victim had a scrape to his elbow, the log says, but refused medical care.

A short while later, the victim called police and said his blue 2003 Lincoln Town Car had been stolen.

The missing car was located fully engulfed in flames on Airport Road, the west end of Riverton, at about 5 a.m.

Officers are studying area video surveillance of the incident for further clues, the log says. RPD published surveillance photos to its Facebook page Monday asking for the public’s help identifying the men.

RPD Capt. Wes Romero confirmed to Cowboy State Daily about midday Monday there are no suspects officially listed in the case.
