It’s Thursday, April 27 – and a cold front today will bring strong winds, showers, thunderstorms and even snow across the Cowboy State today. Winds could gust 45 to 60 mph in some locations. This system will be quick moving, though, and significant snow accumulations are not expected.

It’s Thursday, April 27 – and a cold front today will bring strong winds, showers, thunderstorms and even snow across the Cowboy State today. Winds could gust 45 to 60 mph in some locations. This system will be quick moving, though, and significant snow accumulations are not expected.

Central:

Scattered showers this morning will turn into the possibility of a thunderstorm in Riverton this afternoon, with a high near 64; windy, with gusts as high as 41 mph. Scattered showers and thunderstorms today in Casper, with a high near 56; breezy, with winds gusting as high as 33 mph. Rain and snow showers are likely today in Jeffrey City, with some thunder also possible, and a high near 51; windy, with gusts as high as 39 mph.

Scattered rain showers could mix with snow tonight in Riverton, with some thunder also possible, and a low around 30;  blustery, with winds gusting as high as 33 mph. Rain and snow showers are likely tonight in Casper (less than half an inch of new snow expected), with some thunder also possible, and a low around 35; breezy, wind gusts as high as 26 mph. Snow showers are likely tonight in Jeffrey City (less than an inch expected), with some thunder also possible, and a low around 29; blustery, with winds gusting as high as 31 mph. 

Southwest:

Isolated showers and thunderstorms this afternoon in Green River, otherwise mostly sunny and windy, with a high near 54 and gusts as high as 45 mph. Mostly sunny and breezy today in Evanston, with a high near 51 and winds increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Scattered snow showers in the morning over South Pass will turn to a likelihood of rain and snow showers in the afternoon, with some thunder also possible, otherwise partly sunny and windy, with a high near 38 and gusts as high as 38 mph; new snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Scattered rain and snow showers with some thunder possible in Green River tonight, gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 27; windy, with gusts as high as 39 mph. There’s a chance of rain and snow showers tonight in Evanston, with some thunder also possible, otherwise partly cloudy and breezy, with a low around 25 and 14 to 20 mph winds. Snow showers are likely over South Pass tonight (around an inch expected), with some thunder also possible, gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 21; blustery, with wind gusts as high as 32 mph. 

Western Wyoming:

Pinedale has a slight chance of rain and snow showers this morning, with rain and snow showers and some thunder possible in the afternoon, otherwise mostly sunny and windy, with a high near 43 and gusts as high as 43 mph. Isolated showers this morning in Alpine will turn to a possibility of scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon, otherwise mostly sunny and breezy, with a high near 51 and wind gusts as high as 24 mph. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible in Big Piney today, otherwise mostly sunny and windy, with a high near 45 and gusts as high as 39 mph. 

Isolated snow showers with some thunder possible in Pinedale tonight, otherwise mostly clear and windy, with a low around 21 and gusts as high as 39 mph. Mostly clear and blustery overnight in Alpine, with a low around 24 and wind gusts as high as 22 mph. There’s a slight chance of rain and snow showers with some thunder also possible overnight in Big Piney, otherwise mostly clear and windy, with a low around 19 and gusts as high as 41 mph.

Northwest:

Scattered showers with the possibility of thunderstorms this afternoon in Jackson, otherwise partly sunny and breezy, with a high near 49 and wind gusts as high as 31 mph. Scattered rain and snow showers this morning in Dubois will turn to a likelihood of rain throughout the day, with some thunder also possible, otherwise mostly sunny and windy, with a high near 52 and winds gusting as high as 46 mph; new snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Rain showers and snow showers along with some thunder are possible in Yellowstone National Park this afternoon, otherwise partly sunny and windy, with a high near 46 and gusts as high as 34 mph; new snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Mostly clear and blustery overnight in Jackson, with a low around 23 and winds gusting as high as 29 mph. Dubois can expect scattered snow showers this evening with the possibility of some thunder, otherwise mostly clear and blustery, with a low around 28 and wind gusts as high as 30 mph. Scattered snow showers are possible in Yellowstone this evening, otherwise partly cloudy and breezy, with a low around 28 and wind gusts as high as 30 mph; new snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Bighorn Basin:

Showers and thunderstorms are likely today in Thermopolis, with a high near 60; windy, with gusts as high as 41 mph. Rain showers today will turn into snow showers this afternoon in Cody, with some thunder also possible and a high near 54; windy, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Showers are likely this morning in Lovell, with the possibility of a thunderstorm this afternoon, otherwise partly sunny and windy, with a high near 55 and gusts as high as 44 mph. 

Showers are likely tonight in Thermopolis, with possibly a thunderstorm in the evening, gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 33; windy, with gusts as high as 38 mph. Partly cloudy and windy overnight in Cody, with a low around 32 and gusts as high as 36 mph. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible this evening in Lovell, otherwise partly cloudy and breezy, with a low around 33 and wind gusts as high as 32 mph. 

North Central:

Rain is likely today in Sheridan, with the possibility of thunderstorms, and a high near 55; windy, with gusts as high as 44 mph. Rain showers this afternoon in Buffalo will turn to snow showers with the possibility of some thunder, with temperatures rising to near 51 in the morning and falling to around 40 during the remainder of the day; windy, with gusts as high as 43 mph. There’s a chance of rain and possibly a thunderstorm today in Dayton, with a high near 52; windy, with gusts as high as 45 mph. 

There’s a chance of rain and snow overnight in Sheridan, with some thunder also possible, gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 29; windy, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Rain and snow showers are likely overnight in Buffalo (less than half an inch of new snow expected), with some thunder also possible, and a low around 32; windy, with gusts as high as 43 mph. Rain is likely overnight in Dayton, with a slight chance of snow (less than half an inch) and the possibility of some thunder, and a low around 28; windy, with gusts as high as 45 mph. 

Northeast:

Occasional rain, possibly mixed with snow showers this afternoon in Sundance, with some thunder also possible and a high near 50; breezy, with wind gusts as high as 34 mph. Rain is likely today in Gillette, possibly mixed with snow showers, and some thunder also possible, with a high near 53; very windy, with gusts as high as 50 mph. Showers are likely in Moorcroft today, and possibly a thunderstorm, with a high near 55; windy, with gusts as high as 43 mph. 

Sundance can expect occasional snow showers possibly mixed with rain this evening, becoming all snow overnight (less than one inch possible), and a low around 3,0 with wind chill values as low as 19; blustery, with wind gusts as high as 39 mph. Rain and snow showers are likely  in Gillette overnight, with some thunder also possible, and a low around 34; very windy, with gusts as high as 50 mph. Rain and snow showers are likely overnight in Moorcroft, turning to scattered snow showers, with a low around 34; very windy, with gusts as high as 45 mph. 

Eastern Plains:

Torrington has a chance of showers and thunderstorms today, some of which could produce gusty winds, and a high near 66; winds could gust as high as 35 mph. Showers and thunderstorms are likely today in Lusk, some of which could produce gusty winds, and a high near 58; winds could gust as high as 40 mph. Showers and thunderstorms are likely today in Kaycee, with a high near 55; windy, with gusts as high as 44 mph. 

Rain showers in the evening in Torrington will turn into a chance of rain and snow showers with some thunder also possible, and a low around 34; windy, with gusts as high as 40 mph. There’s a chance of rain and snow showers overnight in Lusk, with some thunder also possible, along with patchy fog, and a low around 31; windy, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Scattered rain and snow showers are expected in Kaycee tonight, with some thunder also possible, and a low around 32; windy, with gusts as high as 39 mph. 

Southeast:

There’s a chance of showers and thunderstorms today in Cheyenne, some of which could produce gusty winds, with a high near 62 and gusts as high as 40 mph. Laramie has an 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms today, with a high near 56; windy, with gusts as high as 45 mph. There’s a chance of showers and thunderstorms today in Chugwater, with a high near 60; windy, with gusts as high as 45 mph. 

Rain showers in the evening in Cheyenne will turn to snow showers (less than an inch expected), with some thunder also possible, and a low around 28; very windy, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Laramie could see 1 to 3 inches of new snow overnight, with some thunder also possible, and a low around 26; blustery, with wind gusts as high as 35 mph. Rain and snow showers this evening in Chugwater will become all snow overnight (less than one inch possible), with a low around 31; windy, with gusts as high as 40 mph. 

South Central:

There’s a slight chance of showers this morning in Rawlins, with showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm in the afternoon, with a high near 53; windy, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Encampment has an 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms today, with a high near 50; windy, with gusts as high as 40 mph. There’s a chance of showers and thunderstorms today in Hanna, with a high near 49; very windy, with gusts as high as 50 mph. 

Rain and snow showers in the evening will become all snow overnight in Rawlins (around an inch of new snow expected), with some thunder also possible, and a low around 27; blustery, with wind gusts as high as 35 mph. Rain this evening will turn to snow overnight in Encampment (between 1 and 3 inches possible), with a low around 25; blustery, with wind gusts as high as 35 mph. Around an inch of new snow could fall overnight in Hanna, with the possibility of some thunder, and a low around 27; blustery, with wind gusts as high as 30 mph.
