Wyoming reported its second death attributed to coronavirus on Wednesday.
The state Department of Health said the victim was an older Laramie County man who had been hospitalized for treatment of COVID-19.
The first fatality from the illness occurred late last week in Johnson County.
“Unfortunately, we have seen this disease touch another Wyoming family in the worst way,” said Dr. Alexia Harrist, the state’s public health officer.
Harrist noted that older residents are more likely to experience complications from the illness.
The Health Department also announced Wednesday that the state’s confirmed coronavirus case count was up to 287, an increase of five from Tuesday afternoon.
