After four years of construction that has displaced the Wyoming Legislature, statewide elected officials and state employees, excitement is building for the grand reopening of the renovated Wyoming Capitol Building. The opening will be held in conjunction with Wyoming’s celebration of statehood on July 10, 2019.

Ahead of the big reveal of the $300 million restoration of the nearly 130-year-old building, we joined State Senate Vice President Ogden Driskillfor a last look at the life of a state legislator in the humble digs of the temporary capitol.

Driskill shares his reflections on changes to the chamber, both physically and in the makeup of the body, and what those changes mean for the decorum and business of the Senate.
