Dear Editor,
After living here a quarter of a century in northeast Wyoming, we have enjoyed every moment. The problem we tried to solve was more than we could handle ourselves.
Very young kittens are often thrown in our yard and many are ill or neglected.
We have taken them in and to many veterinarians in the area. But as we are getting older, we urgently ask locals to bring these kittens or cats to any vet or shelter.
Spaying and neutering is often subsidized. It only takes a trip to get rid of them.
Do not throw them out of trucks or cars, which is done too often.
Dogs or other predators make them suffer and the survivors breed. We have spent a small fortune on vet bills, with love and gratitude that we could help.
It is time for locals to take their responsibility and stop the abuse of cats.
Sincerely,
Carla J. Isselmann, Hulett
