The distinction recognizes radiologists who have demonstrated exceptional achievement in clinical care, research, education, leadership, advocacy, and service to the profession over the course of their careers. According to the American College of Radiology, candidates for Fellowship must have at least 10 years of post-training ACR membership and must demonstrate meaningful contributions to radiology through research, teaching, organized medicine, patient advocacy, and leadership within the specialty. Fellowship candidates are also evaluated through a rigorous nomination and endorsement process involving current Fellows of the College.

The honor is extraordinarily selective. Dr. McGinley is the only practicing radiologist in the state of Wyoming currently holding the FACR designation, placing him among a very small group of physicians nationally recognized for sustained excellence and leadership in radiology.

Dr. McGinley practices at The McGinley Clinic in Casper and Gillette as well as Elite Imaging Center, where he has built a reputation for advanced musculoskeletal imaging, sports medicine, minimally invasive orthopedic procedures, and innovative patient-centered care.

A Stanford University fellowship-trained musculoskeletal and cardiovascular imaging radiologist, Dr. McGinley holds graduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Physiology and earned his medical degree from Temple University before completing both residency and fellowship training at Stanford University. He has authored several research publications and presentations in musculoskeletal imaging, cardiovascular imaging, and orthopedic medicine.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. McGinley is widely recognized as the founder and CEO of McGinley Orthopedics, where he has played a leading role in developing innovative orthopedic technologies and holds more than 130 patents. His work has gained national and international attention, and his clinics in Casper and Gillette draw patients from across the United States and around the world. As the Official Orthopedic Clinic for the Pro Motocross Championship, SMX Next, ClubMX, the Privateer Support Program, and Lochie Hughes of Andretti Global, Dr. McGinley remains deeply committed to advancing care for athletes at every level.

The ACR Fellowship recognition also reflects Dr. McGinley’s longstanding commitment to organized medicine and advocacy for the future of radiology. He has been active in leadership initiatives within radiology organizations, participated in healthcare advocacy efforts, served in medical society leadership roles including past president of the Wyoming and Natrona County Medical Societies, and contributed to physician education and innovation throughout his career.

For Wyoming, the recognition represents a significant milestone. Having a Wyoming-based physician receive radiology’s highest professional distinction highlights the growing national visibility of advanced medical innovation occurring within the state. “This distinction from the American College of Radiology recognizes not just years in practice, but a commitment to advancing how medicine is delivered. I’ve always believed that we can do better for patients by combining imaging, technology, and minimally invasive techniques—and this honor reinforces that mission,” remarked Dr. McGinley.

“FACR” is more than a credential and more letters after a name— it is recognition by peers across the country that a physician has made lasting contributions to radiology and patient care. For Dr. McGinley, the honor reflects decades of work. “Being named a Fellow of the American College of Radiology is a tremendous honor, but at the end of the day, it reflects something bigger—the impact we can have on patients’ lives. Everything we do, from imaging to innovation, is about helping people recover faster and get back to what they love. That’s what drives me.” -Dr. McGinley
