Cassie Craven:  I Did Vote for Women

Columnist Cassie Craven writes, “If the women of the Left care about women’s rights at all, they should wake up and see the world for what it actually is and act. We are so much more than a set of pronouns. We must be more than radical zealots fighting to kill our own babies."

Laken Riley fought her illegal immigrant attacker for 18 minutes before she died with his DNA under her fingernails, but not inside of her. She fought like hell until he beat her in the head repeatedly with a rock.

The evidence at trial showed that Laken called her mom as she started her run around 9:00 a.m. When she didn’t answer another call a few minutes later, her mother began to worry.

“You're making me nervous, not answering when you're out running,” her mom messaged. “Are you OK?" Her mom kept calling.

Her stepfather tried calling. By that point, Laken lay dead in the woods near her college campus.

A check-in call from your mother cannot prevent a premeditated killer.

“On Feb. 22, Jose Ibarra put on a black hat, a hoodie-style jacket and some black kitchen-style disposable gloves, and he went hunting for females on the University of Georgia campus," the prosecutor at Ibarra’s trial said.

"When Laken Riley refused to be his rape victim, he bashed her head in with a rock repeatedly," the prosecutor said. Laken attempted to call 911 at 9:11 a.m., but the call was disconnected. Prosecutors said the killer’s fingerprint was on the bottom of Riley's phone, where one might end a phone call.

The Georgia jury found the killer guilty of 10 separate counts, and the judge sentenced him to life in prison without the possibility of parole. One count was attempted rape. The coward didn’t win until he had a weapon in his hand. She fought with dignity and courage.

U.S. Senator John Fetterman recently appeared on the Joe Rogan Podcast, and discussed former U.S. Senator, Wyoming’s own, Alan Simpson.

Fetterman said he had Alan Simpson as a professor in grad school. He noted that he was a “pro-choice Republican,” who taught him that you are never going to have any meaningful immigration legislation because it is useful for both sides. Fetterman said this was 25 years ago and nothing has changed.

But I believe the American people are tired of being used. The stakes are too high now.

“Undeniably immigration is changing our nation,” said Fetterman.

Yet just this week, in the 11th hour of the transition, Biden quietly eliminated New York City in-person check ins for those seeking amnesty in the United States. In-person checks assist in searches for past arrests or outstanding warrants. It feels like we are trapped in a game.

The women’s rights issues of our generation are now our ability to stay alive and exist.

First we are told we are nothing more than a type, that any man can also become at will. The natural consequence of that is vulnerability, until we are like sheep up for slaughter.

If the women of the Left care about women’s rights at all, they should wake up and see the world for what it actually is and act. We are so much more than a set of pronouns. We must be more than radical zealots fighting to kill our own babies.

We are life. We create life. We deserve to be protected from enemies foreign and domestic. Don’t tell me I didn’t vote to protect women in this presidential election.
