Its Sunday, March 5 and winter weather is back throughout most of the Cowboy State today. In many areas of the state, snow is expected Sunday and Monday, along with wind, which brings blowing and drifting snow back into the picture.

It’s Sunday, March 5 – and winter weather is back throughout most of the Cowboy State today. In many areas of the state, snow is expected Sunday and Monday, along with wind, which brings blowing and drifting snow back into the picture. No unnecessary travel is cautioned south of Kaycee, and black ice conditions are reported in the vicinity of South Pass and the region west of there.

Central:

Partly sunny today in Casper, with a temperature rising to near 34 by 10am, then falling to around 28 during the remainder of the day; breezy, with gusts as high as 37 mph. Riverton will be mostly cloudy through mid morning, then gradually clearing, with a high near 28 and wind chill values as low as -5; breezy, with winds gusting as high as 24 mph. Isolated snow showers today in Glenrock, otherwise partly sunny and breezy, with a high near 39 and wind gusts as high as 40 mph. 

Mostly cloudy in Casper overnight, with a low around 11; breezy, with winds gusting as high as 23 mph. There’s a 20 percent chance of snow overnight in Riverton, with a low around -1 and wind chill values as low as -15. Mostly cloudy tonight in Glenrock, with a low around 12; breezy, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Southwest:

There’s a chance for an inch or less of snow today in Evanston, otherwise partly sunny, with a high near 24 and wind chill values as low as 3. Rock Springs has a 30 percent chance of snow this morning, otherwise partly sunny, with a high near 25; breezy, with gusts as high as 25 mph. There’s a 20 percent chance of snow this morning in Kemmerer, then gradually clearing, with a high near 23 and wind chill values as low as -5; breezy, with gusts as high as 28 mph.

Snow is likely overnight in Evanston, with a low around 7 and wind chill values as low as zero; new snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible. There’s a 30 percent chance of snow overnight in Rock Springs, with a low around 6. Snow is likely in Kemmerer tonight, with a low around 0 and wind chill values as low as -5; new snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Western Wyoming:

There’s a 10 percent chance of snow this morning in Pinedale, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 18 and wind chill values as low as -5; breezy, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Star Valley has a 30 percent chance of snow this morning, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 25; winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Mostly cloudy in Big Piney today, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 18 and wind chill values as low as -10; breezy, with gusts as high as 32 mph, creating patchy blowing snow conditions this afternoon.

Pinedale has a 40 percent chance of snow overnight, with a low around -1 and wind chill values as low as -10; new snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. There’s a 50 percent chance of snow overnight in Star Valley, with a low around 6; new snow accumulation of around an inch possible. There’s a 40 percent chance of snow overnight in Big Piney (less than half an inch expected), with a low around -12. 

Northwest:

There’s a 30 percent chance of snow in Jackson this morning, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 25 and wind chill values as low as zero; breezy, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Dubois has a 30 percent chance of snow today, otherwise partly sunny and breezy, with a high near 25; winds could gust as high as 30 mph. 1 to 2 inches of snow is expected today in Yellowstone National Park, with a high near 25; breezy, with gusts as high as 26 mph. 

Jackson has a 50 percent chance of snow overnight, with a low around 3 and wind chill values as low as -5; new snow accumulation of around an inch possible. There’s a 30 percent chance of snow overnight in Dubois, with a low around 5 and wind chill values as low as -5; breezy, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Yellowstone has a 30 percent chance of snow tonight, with a low around 7 and wind chill values as low as -5.

Bighorn Basin:

There’s a 50 percent chance of snow today in Powell (less than an inch expected), with a high near 31; blustery, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Cody has a chance of snow today (less than half an inch possible, with a high near 27; breezy, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Basin has a 50 percent chance of snow this morning, with a high near 32; total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Mostly cloudy overnight in Powell, with a low around 12. There’s a 10 percent chance of snow overnight in Cody, with a low around 9. Mostly cloudy in Basin tonight, with a low around 10 and wind chill values as low as zero.

North Central:

There’s a slight chance of snow in Buffalo today, with a high near 29; blustery, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Snow is likely today in Sheridan, with a high near 30; new snow accumulation of less than one inch possible. There’s a 60% chance of snow in Big Horn today, with a high near 30; new snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Mostly cloudy overnight in Buffalo, with a low around 11 and wind chill values as low as zero; breezy, with gusts as high as 29 mph. There’s a 40 percent chance of snow overnight in Sheridan, with a low around 16; new snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Big Horn has a 40 percent chance of snow (less than half an inch expected), with a low around 12. 

Northeast:

There’s a 30 percent chance of snow this afternoon in Newcastle, otherwise mostly sunny, with a high near 35 and wind chill values as low as 20; breezy, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Gillette has a 30 percent chance of snow today, with a high near 28 and wind chill values as low as 14; breezy, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Snow likely in Aladdin (less than an inch expected), with a high near 35; breezy, with gusts as high as 24 mph. 

Newcastle has a 30 percent chance of snow, with a low around 16 and wind chill values as low as 7; breezy, with gusts as high as 22 mph. There’s a 30 percent chance of snow tonight in Gillette,  with a low around 14; breezy, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Aladdin can expect 1 to 3 inches of snow overnight, with a low around 18 and wind chill values as low as 10; blustery, with gusts as high as 25 mph. 

Eastern Plains:

Isolated snow showers this afternoon in Douglas, otherwise mostly sunny and breezy, with a high near 42; winds could gust as high as 40 mph. Partly sunny in Midwest today, with a high near 31; windy, with gusts as high as 37 mph. Wheatland can expect isolated snow showers this afternoon, otherwise mostly sunny and breezy, with a high near 46; winds could gust as high as 45 mph.

Scattered snow showers expected today in Laramie, with a high near 36; breezy, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Medicine Bow has a 50% chance of snow showers today, with a high near 29; breezy, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Scattered snow showers expected in Cheyenne today, otherwise mostly sunny, with a high near 46; breezy, with gusts as high as 40 mph. 

There’s a 40 percent chance of snow showers overnight in Laramie, with a low around 12. Medicine Bow has a slight chance of snow tonight, with a low around 2 and wind chill values between -5 and zero. Isolated snow showers are expected tonight in Cheyenne, with a low around 19; blustery, with gusts as high as 30 mph. 

South Central:

Snow showers are likely in Saratoga today (1 to 2 inches possible), with a temperature rising to near 28 by 10am, then falling to around 21 during the remainder of the day; breezy, with gusts as high as 30 mph. 1 to 2 inches of snow is expected in Rawlins today, with a high near 28; breezy, with gusts as high as 35 mph creating patchy blowing snow conditions. Snow showers are likely in Baggs today (1 to 2 inches), with a high near 34; breezy, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
