The entire state is caught up in a massive winter storm. Blizzard warnings, winter storm warnings and high wind warnings are in place over most of Wyoming. Parts of I-80 and I-25 are already closed as the storm sets in.

It’s Tuesday, February 21st –  and the entire state is caught up in a massive winter storm. Winter storm warnings and high wind warnings are in place over most of Wyoming. I-80 is closed between Laramie and Rawlins this morning to all vehicles in both directions, and I-25 between Cheyenne and Casper is closed to light and high-profile vehicles. All roads over the Big Horns are closed due to winter conditions, as is the highway between Casper and Shoshoni. Stay put, folks!

Central:

There’s a 30 percent chance of snow in Riverton this afternoon, with a high near 34; breezy, with gusts as high as 26 mph. In Casper, rain is likely today, then rain and snow into the evening (less than an inch), with a high near 43; very windy, with gusts as high as 70 mph. There’s a chance of rain and snow this morning in Glenrock, then rain likely between 1pm and 4pm and snow after 4pm (less than half an inch); the high temp is 45, and winds are expected to gust as high as 55 mph.

Blizzard conditions overnight in Riverton, with a low around -5 and wind chill values as low as -15; wind gusts as high as 34 mph, and new snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches is possible. Snow in Casper tonight could be heavy at times (6-10 inches possible), with a low around 1 and wind chill values as low as -15; winds could gust as high as 34 mph. 4-8 inches of snow is expected in Glenrock tonight, with areas of fog between 9pm and 11pm and a low around 0, with wind chill values between -10 and zero. 

Southwest:

2-4 inches of snow is expected in Evanston today, with a high near 33; breezy, with gusts as high as 41 mph. Snow this afternoon in Green River (less than an inch), with a high near 34; breezy, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Cokeville today can expect 2-4 inches of snow, with temperatures falling to around 21 by 5pm; windy, with gusts as high as 38 mph. 

Heavy snow overnight in Evanston (4-8 inches possible), with a low around 6 and wind chill values as low as -8; blustery, with gusts as high as 38 mph. 2-4 inches of snow is expected in Green River, with a low around -3 and wind chill values as low as -25; very windy, with gusts as high as 60 mph. Cokeville can look for 1-3 inches of snow overnight, with a low around 1 and wind chill values as low as -10; windy, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Western Wyoming:

Snow is likely in Pinedale today (around an inch), with temperatures falling to around 23 by 5pm; windy, with gusts as high as 41 mph. Star Valley and Alpine can both expect 3-7 inches of snow, with temperatures falling to around 25 by 5pm; breezy, with gusts as high as 34 mph. 

1-2 inches of snow is expected overnight in Pinedale, with a low around 5 and wind chill values as low as -5; breezy, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Star Valley could see an inch of new snow tonight, with a low around 8 and wind chill values as low as zero. Snow is likely in Alpine tonight (an inch possible), with a low around 7.

Northwest:

Snow is expected in Yellowstone National Park today (1-3 inches possible), with temperatures falling to around 22; windy, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Snowfall in Jackson could bring 4-8 inches of accumulation, with temperatures falling to around 20; windy, with gusts as high as 48 mph. 1-2 inches of snow is expected to fall today in Dubois, with temperatures also falling to around 31; windy, with gusts as high as 50 mph. 

Snow is likely overnight in Yellowstone, with a low around -4 and wind chill values as low as -20; blustery, with gusts as high as 26 mph. There’s a chance of snow in Jackson tonight, with a low around 2 and wind chill values as low as -10. Dubois can expect 1-3 inches of new snowfall overnight, with a low around 4 and wind chill values as low as -10; breezy, with gusts as high as 34 mph. 

Bighorn Basin:

A chance of rain and snow this morning in Cody, then 1-2 inches of snow expected, with temperatures rising to near 34 by 9am, then falling to around 16 during the remainder of the day and wind chill values as low as zero; windy, with gusts as high as 44 mph. Powell has a 40 percent chance of snow today (less than half an inch possible), with temperatures rising to near 32 by 11am, then falling to around 20 during the remainder of the day; windy, with gusts as high as 44 mph. There’s a chance of rain and snow this morning in Basin, then a chance for less than half an inch of snow, with temperatures rising to near 35 by 11am, then falling to around 27 during the remainder of the day; breezy, with gusts as high as 33 mph. 

Cody can expect patchy blowing snow overnight (around an inch), with a low around -8 and wind chill values as low as -30; windy, with gusts as high as 41 mph. Snow is likely in Powell tonight (less than an inch), with a low around -4 and wind chill values as low as -30; very windy, with gusts as high as 55 mph. 1-2 inches of snow is expected tonight in Basin, with a low around -1 and wind chill values as low as -15; windy, with gusts  as high as 40 mph. 

North Central:

Rain and snow expected in Sheridan this morning, switching to just snow this afternoon (around an inch of accumulation possible), with temperatures rising to near 32 by 11am, then falling to around 19 during the remainder of the day; breezy, with winds increasing as high as 22 mph in the morning. Around 3 inches of snow expected in Story today, with temperatures falling to around 13, and wind chill values as low as -5; winds could blow up to 24 mph. Dayton can expect rain and snow this morning, becoming all snow after 11am (around an inch possible), with temperatures falling to around 15 and wind chill values as low as -5; winds could blow up to 23 mph. 

Around 3 inches of snow expected overnight in Sheridan, with a low around -5 and wind chill values as low as -20. Story can expect up to 5 inches of new snow tonight, with a low around -6 and wind chill values as low as -25. Around 4 inches of snow tonight in Dayton, with a low around -7 and wind chill values as low as -20. 

Northeast:

Newcastle today can expect snow, possibly mixed with rain, with a high near 41, and wind gusts as high as 22 mph; new snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Rain and snow expected in Moorcroft today, becoming all snow after 4pm (less than half an inch expected), with a high near 41 and wind chill values as low as 18; winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Gillette will see rain and snow today, becoming all snow after 3pm (less than an inch possible), with temperatures falling to around 27 and wind chill values as low as 13; breezy, with gusts as high as 37 mph. 

2-4 inches of snow expected overnight in Newcastle, with a low around 1 and wind chill values as low as -8; winds could gust as high as 23 mph. Moorcroft can expect 2-4 inches of new snow overnight, with a low around -4 and wind chill values as low as -19; breezy, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Tonight in Gillette, 2-4 inches of new snow could fall, with a low around -3 and wind chill values as low as -21; breezy, with gusts as high as 34 mph. 

Eastern Plains:

Douglas can expect about a half inch of snow possibly mixed with rain this afternoon, with a high near 46; windy, with gusts as high as 55 mph. There’s a chance of rain and snow in Lusk today, then snow is likely late in the afternoon (less than half an inch possible) with a high near 45; windy, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Rain is likely in Guernsey this afternoon, with a high near 49; windy, with gusts as high as 50 mph. 

4-8 inches of snow is expected overnight in Douglas, with areas of fog in the early morning and a low around -1, and wind chill values between -5 and -15; blustery, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Heavy snow tonight in Lusk (3-7 inches possible), with areas of fog and a low around -4, with wind chill values between -10 and -20; blustery, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Rain will turn to snow overnight in Guernsey, with 3-7 inches possible, along with areas of fog and a low around 3, with wind chill values between -10 and zero; blustery, with gusts as high as 35 mph. 

Southeast:

There’s a 20 percent chance of snow this afternoon in Laramie, otherwise partly sunny and windy, with a high near 42 and gusts as high as 50 mph. Cheyenne has a 30 percent chance of rain today, with a high near 51; windy, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Mostly cloudy today in Pine Bluffs, with a high near 51. 

Snow is likely in Laramie overnight (2-4 inches), along with patchy fog, with a low around 4; breezy, with gusts as high as 40 mph. 3-7 inches of snow is expected overnight in Cheyenne, along with widespread freezing fog and a low around 3, with wind chill values between -5 and -10; blustery, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Rain and snow is likely this evening in Pine Bluffs, turning to snow after 10pm (2-4 inches of new snow possible), along with widespread freezing fog and a low around 3, with wind chill values between -10 and zero; blustery, with gusts as high as 35 mph. 

South Central:

Snow is expected today in Saratoga (less than half an inch), with a high near 36; windy, with gusts as high as 45 mph. 1-3 inches of snow today in Rawlins, with a high near 36; windy, with gusts as high as 65 mph. Wamsutter could see up to 3 inches of snow this afternoon, with a high near 29; windy, with gusts as high as 41 mph. 

Saratoga can expect 3-5 inches of snow overnight, with a low around 17. Heavy snow expected tonight in Rawlins (8-12 inches), with a low around 7 and wind chill values between -10 and zero; blustery, with gusts as high as 40 mph. 3-7 inches of snow is expected in Wamsutter tonight, with a low around 3 and wind chill values as low as -20; windy, with gusts as high as 48 mph.
