It’s Tuesday, February 14th – and Wyoming is going to get blasted with snow and wind. There’s a winter storm warning in effect today in the northern areas of the state, with heavy snow and high winds expected. High wind warnings are in effect in the southeastern part of the state today.

Central:

Snow in Lander today, with a high near 21 and wind chill values as low as zero; 1-3 inches of accumulation possible. Casper has a 50 percent chance of snow (1-2 inches possible), otherwise partly sunny, with a high near 30; breezy, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Snow likely in Shoshoni this afternoon, with a high near 18 and wind chill values as low as -20; total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Snow overnight in Lander (1-3 inches of new snow possible), with a low around 1 and wind chill values as low as -10; breezy, with wind gusts as high as 21 mph. Snow is likely in Casper (expect 1-2 inches), with a low around 8 and wind chill values as low as -5; breezy, with gusts as high as 21 mph. There’s a 70% chance of snow overnight in Shoshoni (less than an inch), with a low around -4 and wind chill values as low as -20; windy, with gusts as high as 41 mph. 

Southwest:

Mostly sunny in Green River today, with a high near 19 and wind chill values as low as -10; the wind will blow the snow around, with gusts as high as 31 mph. There’s a 30 percent chance of snow in Cokeville today, with a high near 11 and wind chill values as low as -20; breezy, with winds gusting as high as 20 mph. Evanston has a 20 percent chance of snow today, otherwise partly sunny, with a high near 17 and wind chill values as low as -10. 

There’s a 40 percent chance of snow in Green River overnight (less than an inch accumulation), with a low around 2 and wind chill values as low as -15; blustery, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Cokeville has a 20 percent chance of snow this evening, with a low around -13 and wind chill values as low as -20. Evanston has a 20 percent chance of snow, with a low around -4 and wind chill values as low as -25. 

Western Wyoming:

Snow is likely in Pinedale later today, otherwise mostly cloudy, with a high near 14 and wind chill values as low as -10; new snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Snow in Star Valley today, with a high near 19 and wind chill values as low as -5 (wind gusts up to 20 mph); new snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches is possible. Big Piney has a 30 percent chance of snow later in the day, otherwise partly sunny, with a high near 12 and wind chill values as low as -25. 

Overnight, snow is likely in Pinedale (less than half an inch possible), with a low around -11 and wind chill values as low as -25. Snow is likely tonight in Star Valley (less than half an inch possible), otherwise partly cloudy, with a low around -3 and wind chill values as low as -15; breezy, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Big Piney has a 30 percent chance of snow, with a low around -15 and wind chill values as low as -30. 

Northwest:

There’s a 50 percent chance of snow in Jackson today, with a steady temperature around 13 and wind chill values as low as -5; new snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible. Snow is likely in Dubois this afternoon (less than half an inch possible), otherwise partly sunny, with a high near 21 and wind chill values as low as zero; breezy, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park has a 60% chance of snow today (around an inch), with a high near 21; blustery, with gusts as high as 28 mph.

1-2 inches of snow is expected to fall in Powell, with a high near 29; windy, with gusts as high as 41 mph. 3-5 inches of snow is expected in Cody today, with winds gusting as high as 44 mph and a high near 27. Heavy snow in Thermopolis today – 4-8 inches – with a high near 31; blustery, with gusts as high as 34 mph. 

Powell has a 30 percent chance of snow overnight, with a low around 8 and wind chill values as low as -10; blustery, with gusts as high as 37 mph. There’s a 50 percent chance of snow in Cody tonight (less than half an inch), with a low around 3 and wind chill values as low as -5; blustery, with gusts as high as 33 mph. Snow is likely tonight in Thermopolis (less than a half inch), with a low around 4; blustery, with gusts as high as 28 mph. 

North Central:

Snow is likely overnight in Cheyenne (less than half an inch expected), with a low around 8 and wind chill values between -10 and zero; windy, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Laramie can expect less than an inch of snow overnight with some patchy fog and a low around 1, and wind chill values between -10 and zero. Chugwater could see up to 3 inches of new snow tonight, with a low around 9 and wind chill values between -10 and zero; windy, with gusts as high as 45 mph. 

South Central:

Rawlins has a 40 percent chance of snow this afternoon, otherwise mostly sunny, with a high near 21 and wind chill values between -5 and 5; breezy, with gusts as high as 35 mph. There’s a 30 percent chance of snow this afternoon in Saratoga, otherwise mostly sunny, with a high near 21 and wind chill values between zero and 5; breezy, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Baggs has a slight chance of snow, with a high near 26 and wind chill values between -5 and 5.
