Former Wyoming House Speaker Nels Smith Dies In Head-On Highway Crash

Nels Smith, 84, former Wyoming House speaker and grandson of a former governor, along with his wife Jeanette, 85, were killed in a head-on crash on U.S. 85 north of Lingle on Friday. The driver of the other car also was killed.

Paul Roach, the architect of one of the most successful eras in University of Wyoming athletics history died on Sunday. Roach led the Athletic Department from 1987-96 and led the Cowboys to Holiday Bowl in 1987 and 1988 and Copper Bowl in 1990.
