A Cheyenne exotic dancer accused of pulling a gun on a rival performer over a fight involving the attention of a “regular” customer is now headed to district court after her case was filed with the court Friday.
Breanna Ellzey, 28, remains in custody at the Laramie County Detention Center as of Monday on a $10,000 cash-only bond. She was arrested more than two months after the March 4 incident after she fled the scene before law enforcement could arrive, court records show.
According to court records, Ellzey faces charges of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault and battery with a weapon, felony theft and domestic battery.
Fight Over A ‘Regular’
Investigators say the case began when deputies responded to a trailer park along South Greeley Highway after reports that Ellzey had shown up looking to confront another dancer from The Den Gentlemen’s Club.
Two dancers and a man told deputies Ellzey arrived angry over attention from a regular customer at the club, according to the affidavit.
The man — who was dating one of the dancers involved — told investigators that Ellzey allegedly shoved him against a vehicle, frisked his pockets and removed his Smith & Wesson M&P-15 9 mm handgun.
He later told deputies he did not resist because he feared the situation would escalate into gunfire.
The other dancer told investigators Ellzey then confronted her while armed before leaving the scene with the weapon.
Deputies Say She Fled
After interviewing witnesses, deputies went to Ellzey’s Cheyenne residence and spoke with her boyfriend, who said she was believed to be in Denver.
Hours later, according to investigators, Ellzey returned home briefly before leaving again after learning law enforcement was trying to contact her.
Court documents state the boyfriend told deputies Ellzey appeared calm at first but allegedly said, “then I’ve got to get out of here” after learning police wanted to question her.
The boyfriend told investigators she had a heavy object in her purse and attempted to drive away despite him standing in front of her vehicle.
He alleged that Ellzey bumped him multiple times with the vehicle before pushing past him and speeding away.
Investigators also noted the boyfriend told deputies Ellzey had previously talked about fighting with another dancer over a dispute involving a regular customer who had been “paying less attention” to her.
Serious Felony Charges
The aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon charge is punishable by a minimum of five years and up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
The aggravated assault and felony theft charges each carry penalties of up to 10 years in prison and fines of up to $10,000.
The misdemeanor domestic battery charge carries a potential sentence of up to six months in jail and a $750 fine.
Ellzey is next expected to appear for an arraignment in Laramie County District Court where she will enter a plea. As of Monday, a date had not yet been set. If convicted of all her charges, she could face more than 45 years in prison.
