A Wyoming State Trooper was taken to the hospital on Friday evening after a semi-truck collided into the parked patrol car on Highway 59.

The trooper was transported to Memorial Hospital of Converse County for non-life threatening injuries he sustained in the crash.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol said the 53-ft box trailer semi-truck was traveling northbound when the driver lost control of the truck and hit the back of the patrol vehicle.

The accident occurred at mile marker 46.5 on Highway 59 where the trooper was assisting multiple motorists who had left the roadway due to weather and road conditions.

The trooper was inside of vehicle at the time of the crash.

The driver of the truck was cited for speeding too fast for road conditions.
