The Natrona County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday announced it has obtained enough evidence to recommend charges against a 26-year-old man in connection with a double homicide on August 9.
Luke Thomas Young was earlier identified as a person of interest in the deadly shooting which took the lives of Acacia Colvin and Kameron Young Johnson on Highway 20 – 26 in Natrona County.
After a search was launched, Young was taken into custody on August 10 and has remained at the Natrona County Detention Center on an outstanding felony escape warrant from a detention center in Gillette.
Authorities are recommending charges of two counts of first-degree murder and one count of aggravateded assault.
“This is an absolute senseless and tragic crime,” Natrona County Sheriff John Harlin said on August 10. “We are focusing our efforts on conducting a thorough investigation and providing the victim’s families the resources they need so that they can begin to grieve the loss of their loved ones.”
