A man is in custody following an overnight search connected to a double homicide in Natrona County late Tuesday night.

Luke Thomas Young, 26, was arrested on an outstanding warrant and is considered a person of interest in the shooting deaths of two Casper Residents Tuesday night, according to the Natrona County Sheriff’s Office.

The deceased have been identified as Casper residents 27-year-old Kameron Young Johnson and 19-year-old Acacia Colvin, according to the Natrona County Coroner’s Office.

Young, who was wanted on a felony warrant for escape from a work release program in Gillette, was taken in custody around 2:15 p.m. Wednesday after a citizen reported seeing him in the area of 7 Mile Road following a wide-spread search.

“This is an absolute senseless and tragic crime,” Natrona County Sherrif John Harlin said. “We are focusing our efforts on conducting a thorough investigation and providing the victim’s families with the resources they need so that they can begin to grieve the loss of their loved ones.”

According to the Wyoming Department of Correction records, Young was charged with the unlawful manufacture or delivery of schedule I or II drugs on March 17, 2021, in Sheridan County, and was sentenced to three to five years in prison and eligible for parole in January 2022. A warrant for his arrest was issued on Aug. 5 when he failed to report back to the re-entry facility in Gillette.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Natrona County Sheriff’s Office at (307) 235-9282.
