Dear editor:
The Wyoming Education Association (WEA) undermines American values by opposing Education Savings Accounts (ESAs), which empower parental choice and educational freedom.
Our family, including a child with autism, relies on homeschooling and non-traditional education because the outdated public school system — rather unchanged since the 1900s — fails to meet diverse needs.
ESAs would foster competition, driving innovation in public schools, yet the WEA’s lawsuit halts this reform, prioritizing control over progress.
Having lived under a communist regime where choices were stifled, I see the WEA’s actions as eerily similar — suppressing parental freedom and enforcing conformity.
This is un-American.
Wyoming parents must reject the WEA’s efforts to limit our choices and impose a one-size-fits-all system that stifles individuality and innovation.
