Dear editor:
Thank you so much for doing the article on the Cheyenne tornado of 1979. I was there, originally from England came over three years previously had a house on King Arthur Way with my husband.
One of the things that sticks with me, the kindness shown by the national guard, walking me to the home to retrieve my dogs that were safe.
The Union Pacific sent several rail gangs to pick up all the trash, plywood on all the open windows and doors and tarps over the roofs.
I remember watching the yellow helmets coming over the hill and I started to cry such a welcome sight. They made everything look tidier. They did a magnificent job.
