Dear Editor

We're lucky to have good people in the Wyoming Republican Party that are willing to take the time to serve.

We have an election coming up.  Incumbent State Chairman Frank Eathorne is being challenged by Frank Moore.  Both are Converse County Ranchers. Both are strong conservatives.

As members of the State Central Committee, it's our job to get good conservative candidates elected to office that will adhere to our platform. In order to be effective, it's vital that we be persuasive.

The late Paul Kruse said it best,"You can't persuade the offended."

Respect for those we disagree with is often mistaken for compromise when, in fact, it shows strength and dignity. It encourages people to look at things from our point of view.

Many adopt our doctrine which is understandable because we adhere to a philosophy that's based on truth, logic, and personal responsibility. Some of the most well spoken conservative Republicans weren't always in our camp.

We can put our energy into labeling people. We can make accusations. We can exclude people.......but it doesn't do much good.   I'm not talking about making concessions.  I'm not talking about turning our back on the party platform. I'm talking about the importance of treating all people with respect.

Frank Moore knows these things. It's well known that he's a problem solver and a person of integrity. He supports the Republican Party Platform. He's a great leader and I support him for Wyoming Republican Party Chairman.

Sincerely,

Jeb Hanson

Niobrara County State Central Committeeman
