Letter To The Editor: I Never Called Anyone A Secessionist For Questioning Vax Mandates

Dear editor,

It’s not often I’m dragged into fighting amongst members of the Republican Party, but my name (wrongfully spelled mind you) was invoked in a recent Letter to the Editor from Mr. Patrick Lucas.

I write this to do nothing more than to clarify and correct the assertions made that I called people secessionists for “daring to question Joe Biden’s unconstitutional mask and vaccine mandates.”

I DID NOT ever call anyone a secessionist during those times that didn’t mention secession as a form of recourse.

Our Chairman of the State Republican Party made mention that he was looking into what Texas was doing as far as considering secession from the Union.  THAT, my friends, is secessionism at its core.

Need I remind anyone, our State Constitution declares that we are an inseparable part of the Union – which means we CAN’T secede.  Texas has a special provision in their constitution.

If they want to do it, let them, but for our party chairman to claim that we were even on the verge of considering it was out of line and that is who I called a secessionist.

Thank you for your time in reading this correction to the ill-informed Mr. Lucas who chose to bring me into the mix for no reason.

Sincerely,

Landon Brown, Cheyenne
Rep. Brown represents House District 9
