Its Thursday, February 9th and winter weather is back. Wintry conditions have closed many highways in the eastern part of the state as of this morning. The Bighorn Basin has been spared the brunt of the storm, but there are travel advisories in place for the rest of the state. But good news - the weather pattern fast moving, although bitter cold temperatures are returning.

It’s Thursday, February 9th – and winter is hitting hard again. Wintry conditions have closed the interstate and many highways in the eastern part of the state as of this morning. The Bighorn Basin has been spared the brunt of the storm, but there are travel advisories in place for the rest of the state. But good news – the weather pattern is clearing today, although bitter cold temperatures are returning.

Central:

Sunny today in Riverton, with a high near 23, and wind chill values as low as -10. Shoshoni can expect sunny skies, with a high near 18 and wind chill values as low as -10. There’s a 20 percent chance of snow showers in Casper this morning, then gradually clearing, with a high near 26. 

Overnight, partly cloudy in Riverton, with a low around -4 and wind chill values as low as -15. Mostly clear in Shoshoni tonight, with a low around -7 and wind chill values as low as -20. Mostly clear overnight in Casper, with a low around 17 and wind chill values as low as zero; windy, with gusts as high as 41 mph.

Southwest:

Sunny today in Rock Springs, with a high near 21 and wind chill values as low as -10. Evanston can expect sunny skies, with a high near 22 and wind chill values as low as -10. Travelers over South Pass today will see sunny skies, with a high near 15 and wind chill values as low as -10; blustery, with winds gusting as high as 21 mph.

Mostly clear overnight in Rock Springs, with a low around 2 and wind chill values as low as -10. Evanston will be mostly clear tonight, with a low around 3 and wind chill values as low as -6. Mostly clear tonight over South Pass, with a low around 8 and wind chill values as low as -10; breezy, with gusts as high as 22 mph.

Western Wyoming:

Sunny in Pinedale today, with a high near 16 and wind chill values as low as -20; blustery, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Sunny in Afton, with a high near 21 and wind chill values as low as -5. Big Piney can expect sunny skies, with a high near 13 and wind chill values as low as -20. 

Overnight, partly cloudy in Pinedale, with a low around -4 and wind chill values as low as -15. Clear tonight in Afton, with a low around 5. Partly cloudy in Big Piney tonight, with a low around -12 and wind chill values as low as -20. 

Northwest:

Sunny in Jackson today, with a high near 20 and wind chill values as low as -15. Sunny near the south entrance to Yellowstone National Park, with a high near 22 and wind chill values as low as -20. Sunny in Dubois today, with a high near 28 and wind chill values as low as zero; breezy, with gusts as high as 22 mph.

Clear overnight in Jackson, with a low around -1 and wind chill values as low as -10. Mostly clear in southern Yellowstone tonight, with a low around -1 and wind chill values as low as -10. Clear tonight in Dubois, with a low around 17; blustery, with gusts as high as 26 mph.

Bighorn Basin:

Sunny in Cody today, with a high near 35. Ten Sleep can expect sunny skies today, with a high near 27, but wind chill values as low as -5. Sunny in Lovell, with a high near 32; breezy, with winds gusting as high as 20 mph.

Mostly clear overnight in Cody, with a low around 21. Clear overnight in Ten Sleep, with a low around 11. Mostly clear tonight in Lovell, with a low around 13. 

North Central:

Ranchester has a 30 percent chance of snow today before 8am, then becoming sunny, with a high near 32. Sheridan can expect partly sunny skies, gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 34. A 20 percent chance of snow in Story early this morning, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 33. 

Mostly clear in Ranchester overnight, with a low around 15. Mostly clear in Sheridan tonight, with a low around 16. Story can expect mostly clear skies overnight, with a temperature rising to around 27 by 3am. 

Northeast:

Watch out for patchy blowing snow before 9am near Gillette – winds could gust as high as 40 mph; mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 29 and wind chill values as low as 5. Mostly cloudy in Newcastle, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 31 and wind chill values as low as 6; windy, with gusts as high as 43 mph. Moorcroft can expect patchy blowing snow before 9am, then gradually clearing, with a high near 30 and wind chill values as low as 5; blustery, with gusts as high as 36 mph.

Mostly clear in Gillette overnight, with a low around 17 and wind chill values as low as 6; breezy, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Mostly clear overnight in Newcastle, with a low around 13. Mostly clear tonight in Moorcroft, with a low around 13 and wind chill values as low as 2. 

Eastern Plains:

Mostly cloudy in Torrington today, then gradually becoming sunny, with a steady temperature around 26; windy, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Midwest can expect mostly cloudy skies through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 25; blustery, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Mostly cloudy in Lusk, then gradually becoming sunny, with a temperature around 18 and wind chill values between zero and 5; windy, with gusts as high as 50 mph.

Mostly clear overnight in Torrington, with a low around 12. Clear tonight in Midwest, with a low around 13 and wind chill values as low as -5; breezy, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Mostly clear tonight in Lusk, with a low around 6 and wind chill values between -5 and zero. 

Southeast:

Laramie has a 20 percent chance of snow before 8am, otherwise partly sunny today, with a high near 17 and wind chill values between -10 and zero; blustery, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Mostly sunny in Cheyenne today, with a steady temperature around 20 and wind chill values between zero and 5; windy, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Pine Bluffs has a 20 percent chance of snow before 10am, then gradually becoming sunny, with a steady temperature around 20 and wind chill values between -5 and 5; windy, with gusts as high as 45 mph.

Mostly clear overnight in Laramie, with a low around -2 and wind chill values between -5 and -10. Mostly clear tonight in Cheyenne, with a low around 11 and wind chill values between zero and 5. Pine Bluffs can expect mostly clear skies, with a low around 9 and wind chill values between zero and 5. 

South Central:

Cloudy in Saratoga through mid morning today, then gradually clearing, with a high near 18 and wind chill values between zero and 10. Mostly sunny in Rawlins, with a high near 18 and wind chill values between -10 and zero; blustery, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Wamsutter can expect mostly sunny skies, with a high near 16 and wind chill values as low as -10.
