The manner of death was accidental for a 10-year-old who died in November in what local police traffic identified as a sledding incident on the Wind River Indian Reservation, according to a death docket released Wednesday.

Travis Blackburn Jr. died Nov. 26, 2022, of blunt force trauma to the chest, the docket states. The impact stems from a “vehicle mishap.”

Blackburn’s time of death was 9:21 p.m., and the child was not intoxicated.

The FBI in November was investigating the case but not eager to release details since it was still under investigation at the time.

The agency, which investigates incidents on the Wind River Indian Reservation, did not immediately respond Wednesday to a Cowboy State Daily request for more information.
