Eleven counties in Wyoming have no active coronavirus cases as of Friday morning, according to an analysis of Wyoming Department of Health numbers.

The department’s numbers show that all of the people in those counties diagnosed with confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus since the illness was first detected in Wyoming in mid-March have recovered.

As of Friday morning, Converse, Crook, Goshen, Hot Springs, Johnson, Lincoln, Niobrara, Park, Platte, Sublette and Weston counties have no active cases.

The highest number of active cases, 66, is found in Fremont County, which has led the state in the number of coronavirus cases diagnosed since the beginning of the pandemic for more than one month. The Health Department figures indicate the county has 53 active cases among people confirmed to have coronavirus and 13 among those with probable cases.

Uinta County, which has seen rapid growth in confirmed cases in the last week, has 41 active cases, 39 among those with confirmed coronavirus cases and two among those with probable cases.

A probable case is defined as one where the patient has coronavirus symptoms and has been in contact with someone with a confirmed case, but has not been tested for the illness.

Statewide, the Health Department reports that only 24 probable cases are considered active. Eighteen counties have no active probable cases.

State figures show a total of 155 confirmed coronavirus cases are considered active in 12 counties.
