A Fremont County woman has become the eighth person to die after being infected with the coronavirus, the Wyoming Department of Health reported.
The department, in a news release Saturday, said the woman was one of the state residents with a laboratory-confirmed case of COVID-19.
The woman had existing conditions that put her at a higher risk of complications from the virus, it said.
No other details about the death were immediately available.
Wyoming’s confirmed coronavirus case count stood at 559 on Saturday. Another 182 “probable” cases also exist, the department said.
A probable case is one where a patient has coronavirus symptoms and has been in contact with someone with a laboratory-confirmed case of the illness, but has not been tested.
