It’s Monday, March 27 – and while the northern part of the state is digging out from the weekend’s storm activity, the rest of Wyoming can expect unseasonably cold temperatures. Bonus: snow is still in the forecast later in the week as well. Woo-hoo.
It’s Sunday, March 26 – and snow continues to fall today in the northern part of the Cowboy State. Farther south, cold temperatures remain, with wind chill values below zero. A winter storm warning is in effect for the north central part of the state.
It’s Saturday, March 25 – and “unsettled” is the word for the weekend when it comes to our weather here in the Cowboy State. The weather will be changeable and variable throughout the state. The Pacific wave that is bringing in snow, rain, and even some thunderstorms this weekend will also bring bitter cold in other parts of the state.
It’s Friday, March 24 – and the snow will start in this afternoon for the northern and western parts of the state. In some places, a winter storm warning will be in effect through Monday.
It’s Thursday, March 23 — Scattered snow showers in many locations across Wyoming today. Cool temps and another storm system moves into the state on Friday.
It’s Wednesday, March 22 – and snow has returned to the Cowboy State. As of this morning, road conditions around the state have not been terrible, but snowfall and winds throughout the day could change that. More snow is in the forecast for the remainder of the week.
It’s Monday, March 20 – and below normal temps will continue this next week, despite today marking the first day of spring. An active weather pattern will bring a series of winter storm systems across the region through the end of the week.
A mixture of weather across Wyoming on Sunday. Highs ranging from the 20s to the lower 50s. Another cold front enters the state on Monday and expect active weather patterns for the week.
Unseasonably cold temps continue throughout Wyoming on Saturday with highs mostly in the 20s and 30s across the state.
C-O-L-D….. It’s Friday, March 17 – and although it’s St. Patrick’s Day, it’s way too early to even think about celebrating spring. The sun will shine across the Cowboy State today. Temps will remain below normal through this weekend. The next weather system moves in Monday night.
It’s Thursday, March 16 – and although the worst is over from this latest storm front it will remain cold throughout the state. Watch out for sketchy road conditions over South Pass and through Ten Sleep Canyon this morning; along the east slope of the Big Horns; and some areas on I-80 between Laramie and Rawlins and I-25 north of Cheyenne.
It’s Wednesday, March 15 – and a new storm has arrived in many areas of the state. Yellowstone and the Tetons could see 12-18+ inches of new snow. The valleys should see 3-6 inches, with some 6-8 inch amounts in a few locations. Meanwhile in south-central and southeastern Wyoming, temps in the low 60s will be reached.
It’s Tuesday, March 14 – and light snow will persist through the day over western Wyoming. High temps in many areas of the state will be about 5-10 degrees warmer than Monday. Gusty southwest winds also continue across the central part of the state.
It’s Monday, March 13 – and a chance for snow moves into the west today. The valleys may see rain/snow mix at times, and temperatures across the area will generally be in the 30s, with 40s for the Bighorn Basin, as well as Johnson and Natrona Counties. Wind and snow will pick up tomorrow, though.
It’s Sunday, March 12 – and it is a rare, quiet day, with no weather warnings, very little precipitation, no dangerously cold wind chills. Daylight Saving Time has started so we hope you’ve “sprung ahead” this morning!
It’s Saturday, March 11 – and sunny skies will prevail in most of the state today, along with the ever-present wind. Cold temperatures continue across much of the state with temperatures not getting above freezing in many locations.

It’s Monday, March 6 – and snow is expected across the state and still cold. Wind chills will hit below zero in many locations. Stronger system arriving Wednesday and Thursday.
It’s Sunday, March 5 – and winter weather is back throughout most of the Cowboy State today. In many areas of the state, snow is expected Sunday and Monday, along with wind, which brings blowing and drifting snow back into the picture.
It’s Saturday, March 4 – and the open roads in south-central Wyoming didn’t stay open for long. I-80 is closed once again, as are all roads south of Lander and north of Rawlins. Temperatures have dropped, and the Cowboy State can expect more snow over the weekend.
It’s Friday, March 3 – and while winds are picking up in parts of the state, snow is expected in others. Light to moderate snow will spread east of the Divide.
Snow continues over western of Wyoming today, and light snow will move across southern areas of the state this afternoon/evening. Temperatures will remain below normal today, and skies will be mostly cloudy to overcast, with mainly light winds across the state.
Mountains in the west and north-central will see new snow today, and the wind will pick up in the usual locations around the Cowboy State. Colder Wednesday and Thursday. Active pattern this weekend.
It’s Monday, February 27th – and while most of the roads around the state have re-opened, there are still a few in south-central Wyoming that need to be dug out. Sunny skies prevailing in the north and east part of the state today, but snow is pushing its way in on the western side as well as in the northeast, settling in for the next few days.
It’s Sunday, February 26th – and snow is creeping back into the forecast, with a couple of inches possible in western Wyoming today. High winds could be hazardous in southeast Wyoming overnight. There are STILL major highways closed in south and central Wyoming, as well as a section of I-25 near Midwest.
It’s Saturday, February 25th – and we’re climbing out of the deep freeze today! Wyoming receives a welcome break from snow and cold before the next storm front moves in early next week.
Arctic air begins to move out. Windy in many areas today. Mountain snow. Still cold. Several weather systems moving in next week.
It’s Thursday, February 23rd – and bitterly cold temperatures remain in many areas across the state. And it’s not warming up any time soon.
Bitter cold temperatures and wind chills and snow. Snow heaviest in south-central Wyoming. Hazardous travel and livestock conditions. Sub-zero temps tonight.
The entire state is caught up in a massive winter storm. Blizzard warnings, winter storm warnings and high wind warnings are in place over most of Wyoming. Parts of I-80 and I-25 are already closed as the storm sets in.
Harsh weather on the way, High winds today. Snow in mountains today across the plains Tuesday. Then comes arctic front with sub-zero temps.

It’s Saturday, February 18th. Sunny in most areas of the state today with pockets of snow in northwest Wyoming. Warmer and windy in many areas of the state. Enjoy the sunshine, as the snow and cold will return in the next couple of days. Sub-zero temps on the way later this week.
Enjoy the next two days because Wyoming will be hit with three different cold fronts beginning on Sunday and will bring snow and sub-zero temps next week.
It’s Thursday, February 16th – time to bundle up, as much of the state is under a wind chill advisory. The wind chill is bringing temperatures down to -20 and -30 in many areas. COLD COLD COLD COLD COLD.
It’s Wednesday, February 15th – and as quickly as the snow came, it went, leaving very cold temperatures and the threat of more snow later in the week.
It’s Tuesday, February 14th – and Wyoming is going to get blasted with snow and wind. There’s a winter storm warning in effect today in the northern areas of the state, with heavy snow and high winds expected. High wind warnings are in effect in the southeastern part of the state today.
Today is the calm before the storm, so hold onto your hats, it’s about to get western. Winter storms begin making noise tonight, with snow and wind expected tomorrow in most of the state.
It’s Sunday, February 12th – and we’re in between weather patterns today. Mostly sunny skies across the region, and just a bit warmer in some places around the Cowboy State. Looking ahead, though, be prepared for some heavy snow to enter the state by Tuesday.
It’s Saturday, February 11th – there are no weather advisories or hazardous weather outlooks for today… sunny skies and near-normal temperatures are in today’s forecast. But that still means cold and windy in many locations.
The sun will be shining across the Cowboy State today. Warmer, although wind chills will still drop temperatures dramatically in some areas. Watch out for wind in the usual places, especially in the central part of the state.
It’s Thursday, February 9th – and winter weather is back. Wintry conditions have closed many highways in the eastern part of the state as of this morning. The Bighorn Basin has been spared the brunt of the storm, but there are travel advisories in place for the rest of the state. But good news – the weather pattern fast moving, although bitter cold temperatures are returning.
It’s Wednesday, February 8th – and winter is BACK. Snow and wind will increase across the state. The Bighorns and Natrona County have the best chances for accumulating snow today, with 3-12 inches expected in the western mountains.
It’s Monday, February 6th – and snow showers are expected to develop across areas east of the Divide, but for the most part amounts should be on the light side. Snow will decrease in the afternoon, except for isolated showers in the west ending by sunset. Strong winds are expected in some areas (of course).
It’s Sunday, February 5th – and snow has returned. Look for breezy conditions and some snow accumulation in many parts of the state. There is a high wind warning in effect this evening in central and southeast Wyoming, so traffic on I-25 will be affected.
It’s Saturday, February 4th – and while a few snow showers will occur over the western mountains, amounts will remain light — mainly dry conditions are expected elsewhere. There’s a high wind warning in effect for southeast Wyoming today, so batten down the hatches.
Okay, campers, rise and shine, and don’t forget your booties ’cause it’s cooooold out there today. Warming up a bit more, however. Blowing snow problems in some areas. Pacific front moving in early next week with cold and snow. Happy Groundhog Day!
