Gillette-Based Atlas Carbon Makes $440K Payment On Defaulted $15 Million State Loan
Atlas Carbon, a Gillette-based producer of activated carbon for filters, has paid nearly $440,000 to resolve a default ruling on a $15 million loan from the Wyoming State Loan and Investment Board. "We consider them in good standing," a spokesman for the board said.

Judge Tosses Lawsuit Seeking To Oust 4 Of 5 Sheridan County Commissioners
A lawsuit filed by the Sheridan County Republican Party seeking to oust four of that county’s five commissioners was tossed out by a judge Monday. The judge found the Sheridan GOP lacked standing to bring its lawsuit and failed to meet the burden of proof of any wrongdoing.

Goose Exploding On Power Line Prompts Gunshot Calls In Thermopolis
Several Thermopolis residents called the police on Tuesday reporting loud gun shots near Hot Springs State Park. Turns out it was a large goose which flew into a power line and exploded. No one was injured (except the blown-up goose).
