Almost forty years ago, my uncle began telling me about Iran. I remember listening to his stories about the people, the culture, and the risks Christians were taking simply to follow Jesus. Those conversations stayed with me, and from that point on, Iran has always held a special place in my heart.
Many years ago, I even had the opportunity to travel to Iran and spend time praying for the country. I remember walking through the streets and quietly praying for the people and for the Gospel to spread.
During that trip we stayed in several hotels, and I remember sensing that there were secret police watching our every move. It was a reminder of just how closely life is monitored there.
Today, Iran continues to be a place where people live under tremendous pressure. In recent years, there have been widespread demonstrations across the country. Reports indicate that more than 30,000 people have been killed, and many others have been imprisoned. We have also heard that over 50,000 mosques have closed, and around 3,000 have been burned during the unrest.
At the same time, bombings and instability in the region continue to create even more uncertainty for families already living under difficult conditions.
Behind these headlines are real people—mothers, fathers, and young people who are weary of the oppression they have lived under for years.
One story shared during the demonstrations was especially heartbreaking. A mother whose son had been killed during the protests was told that before she could receive his body, she would have to pay for the bullet that had been used. In her grief, she said she would never return to a mosque again.
Stories like this help us understand why many Iranians are searching for something different.
In the middle of all of this, we are hearing that many people are quietly turning to Jesus.

Through our contacts, Farsi Bibles have already been distributed inside the country, and we recently heard again that the Bibles delivered have been a great blessing to many people. Communication can be difficult, but every report reminds us of the power of God’s Word when it reaches someone who has never had the chance to read it before.
But following Jesus in Iran comes with real danger.
When people convert to Christianity, their lives can be at risk. Those who share their faith openly are often watched closely, sometimes arrested, and in some cases even killed for their faith in Jesus Christ. Despite the danger, the hunger for truth continues to grow.
That is why getting God’s Word into Iran is so important.
For many Iranians, receiving a Bible is the first opportunity they have ever had to read the words of Jesus for themselves. At a time when so many are questioning what they have been taught and searching for truth, God’s Word can speak directly to their hearts. As we continue working to print and distribute more Farsi Bibles, we invite you to pray for the people of Iran and consider partnering with us. Together, we can place the message of hope into the hands of those who are quietly searching for it.
