LSB Auctions has announced a three-day live auction scheduled for May 1–3 at The Cody Auditorium, featuring more than 1,200 lots of historic firearms, Western memorabilia, militaria, sporting arms, and collectibles from private collections and estates nationwide.

The sale represents months of research, evaluation, and documentation, according to company officials, and is designed to appeal to both advanced collectors and first-time bidders. The catalog spans more than two centuries of American, European, and military history, with offerings ranging from 18th-century flintlock pistols to modern sporting firearms.

Among the highlights is a Confederate Civil War-era Colt 1861 Navy revolver with documented ties to Louisville, Kentucky, and Union General William T. Sherman’s occupation of the city. The revolver, shipped in 1861, has a factory letter attesting to the legitimacy of the wartime contraband association.

The auction also features several historically significant military firearms, including Revolutionary War-era flintlock pistols attributed to Captain James Leach of the Massachusetts Militia, complete with researched payroll and service records. Other military pieces include World War II M1 Garand rifles, M1 Carbines, and a rare FP-45 “Liberator” pistol produced for Allied resistance forces.

Collectors of American handguns will find a wide selection of Colt revolvers and pistols spanning the 19th and 20th centuries. Featured lots include factory-engraved Colt percussion revolvers, early Model 1911 U.S. military pistols, Single Action Army revolvers with provenance, and pre-war target pistols such as the Colt Woodsman series. Several examples retain almost all of their original finishes and include factory letters and period accessories.

Modern and transitional-era firearms are also well represented, with offerings including custom 1911 pistols, Kimber and FN handguns, Glock competition models, and precision .22 rifles from Winchester, Marlin, and Remington. A wide variety of FN, HK & Colt "Battle Rifles" will also be available for bidders.

Beyond firearms, the auction includes a substantial selection of Western and historical memorabilia. Notable items include a studio-marked, film-worn cowboy hat from John Wayne’s Batjac Productions, a pair of Smith & Wesson revolvers owned by Jerry Lewis, as well as early 20th-century photographs and signed materials connected to Buffalo Bill Cody and Theodore Roosevelt.

Sporting and exploration memorabilia includes a signed limited-edition set of Roosevelt’s “African Game Trails,” African safari trophy plaques, vintage Winchester advertising displays, calendars, posters, impressive bronze statues and early firearms-related ephemera.

The sale also features an extensive group of leather goods and cowboy gear, including early 20th-century cartridge belts, holsters, cuffs, spurs, and tooled accessories from noted Western makers. Many pieces retain original hardware and period craftsmanship.

European and World War II militaria will be represented by rare edged weapons and presentation pieces, including a Luftwaffe officer’s sword surrendered by Hermann Göring to General Hoyt Vandenberg in 1945.
