Dear editor:
I stumbled upon your newspaper and web site a couple of days ago.
As a kid raised on a Minnesota farm and with relatives in Helena, Montana, I was mesmerized by the stories you cover and the skill with which they are written.
I am now a retired major market [San Francisco] TV news director, having spent over 30-years in the broadcast news business.
The lack of real, old school journalism is sad for those having grown up in such a politically polarized and biased news environment.
That's why I am writing to you folks at Cowboy State Daily. You are a breath of fresh air to those of us left, out here, who know the value of real journalism.
A woman who lives in her van and loves the outdoors ... a guy who inherits a Colt 44 and finds out it's an historic firearm. These kinds of stories are priceless.
If he were a real person, Joe Picket would be so proud of all of you at CowboyStateDaily.
Sincerely,
Lee Schell
