Dear editor,
On May 13th, I attended a town hall in Goshen County of which Chuck Gray was one of the speakers. The other speaker was Nathan Winters from the Wyoming Family Alliance.
This meeting was a “short notice” meeting meaning that most people didn’t know it until the day of the town hall if they knew about it at all.
In fact, neither the press nor the county government knew about it until May 13, 2025, which was the day of the meeting. I happened to find out about it on a Facebook post blurb.
Mr. Winters put on a good talk regarding the freedom of religion law that was passed through the legislature. It was very informative, and he was a very good speaker. He was very passionate about right to life and freedom of religion.
I was there to ask some questions to Mr. Gray regarding perceived election issues and hand counting in general.
He mentioned the mess in Weston County which I agreed that it was a mess, a very rare mess but a mess all the same.
I asked him if there had been any election issues in Goshen County recently. I told him that the last one I remembered concerned Al Hamburg.
Several people in the room snickered as they knew whom I was talking about. I guess that this proved that I wasn’t an “import” (If you want to learn more about Al Hamburg just google him).
Mr. Gray and I had a civil but passionate discussion on the prohibition of voting machines. There were several others in the room that were also passionate about the subject matter.
Another matter that I brought up was all the name calling that has been done by mostly the Freedom Caucus.
There were many Freedom Caucus followers in the room. Two of three Goshen County legislators were also present.
Like I mentioned before, the town hall was not well publicized. Well, that discussion got rather heated with some of that heat coming from me. Yes, I’ll admit that I poked the bear a little bit here.
I was taken aback when Mr. Gray mentioned JD Williams (HD 3) and Cody Wylie (HD 39) as part of this conversation.
He told me that I needed to look them up on “WyoRINO."
I told him that I thought that JD Williams was a straight shooter and that I really didn’t know Cody Wylie.
It seemed kind of weird that all the sudden this discussion took this turn. As I was leaving, I heard someone mutter that Mr. Gray was campaigning for office.
Anyways, all I know is if I see Mr. Gray’s name on a ballot, I will write in Al Hamburg. Unless there is someone better running for that office.
Sincerely,
Deana Baker, Lingle
