WASHINGTON, D.C. — Members of the Wyoming delegation said newly released audio from interviews conducted in 2023 show further proof of Joe Biden’s poor mental fitness when he occupied the White House — a cognitive decline that Biden’s allies in the government and media downplayed or outright lied about.

“The recently released tapes revealed sure signs of President Biden’s advanced age,” U.S. Sen. John Barrasso of Wyoming, the Senate’s second-ranking Republican, told Cowboy State Daily on Monday.

“Democrats in the Cabinet and Congress, as well as members of the national media, lied repeatedly to the American people,” Barrasso said. “They continued to assert Joe Biden was sharp as a tack and quick as a whip.

“He clearly was not up to the job. I’m grateful we now have President Trump in the White House.”

U.S. Sen. Cynthia Lummis and U.S. Rep. Harriet Hageman, Wyoming Republicans, echoed Barrasso’s criticism. A book due out Tuesday makes arguments to the same effect.

At the same time, the Wyoming delegation also expressed sympathy for the former president concerning his prostate cancer diagnosis, revealed this weekend.

“I was saddened to hear about President Biden’s cancer diagnosis. He remains in my prayers,” Lummis said.

It was announced Biden has an “aggressive form” of prostate cancer that’s quite advanced.

Classified Documents Case

Biden was about one month shy of his 81st birthday when he was interviewed twice in October 2023 by special prosecutor Robert Hur concerning classified documents found in one of Biden’s homes.

The papers traced back to Biden’s time as vice president, and he possessed them during Trump’s first term, when Biden did not hold any office.

The transcripts of the Hur interviews were released a year ago. But the D.C. news site Axios late last week obtained the audio, posting it in part Friday and in full Saturday.

It was notable for Biden’s long pauses and stammers as his memory seemed to fail him.

He was off by years in attempting to recall when his son Beau was deployed overseas, and when Beau died of brain cancer. He frequently had to be corrected by his lawyers.

Lummis Cites Pivotal Debate

“It’s very clear to everyone that the Biden White House and legacy media for years covered up and lied about President Biden’s cognitive decline,” Lummis told Cowboy State Daily on Monday.

“As one of the biggest scandals in U.S. political history, the Democrats knew Joe Biden was unfit to serve and lied to the American public about his well-being,” Lummis said.

“The only reason President Biden dropped out of the 2024 race was because the world saw his decline on the debate stage and the Democrats knew he had become a political liability,” Lummis said. “The American people deserve to know who was actually making decisions in the White House during those four years.”

Hageman: Who Was Running The Country?

Hageman expressed sympathy over the prostate cancer diagnosis but noted it has nothing to do with Biden’s handlers during his White House years.

"The diagnosis that was disclosed this weekend would be devastating for any family. President Biden deserves to have the privacy he needs during his treatment and recovery,” Hageman told Cowboy State Daily on Monday. “However, this does not absolve his handlers from what may be a very serious and widespread coverup of now both mental and physical decline.”

Hageman referred to the autopen, which presidents are authorized to use to sign documents.

“The American public has the right to know who was actually running this country and who was operating the autopen,” she said. “It is critically important that we hold those people accountable for the fraud they have perpetuated.”

New Book

A book by CNN's Jake Tapper and Axios’ Alex Thompson is due out Tuesday. It is titled: “Original Sin: President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again.”

Recently released excerpts have drawn fire from Democrats but apparently say little or nothing to refute the Wyoming lawmakers’ point of view. The excerpts claim Biden’s health problems were both mental and physical.
