Dear editor,

I am a native Wyomingite serving my country with the Army. I read Cowboy State Daily to keep up on happenings in Wyoming. It helps smooth my homesickness.

What alarms me is so many Wyomingites supporting issues in complete ignorance.

One recent letter said the US has lost due process because the deported Kilmar Abrigo Garcia.

Due process is for criminal cases. His was a civil case. He was not a US citizen. He was an illegal alien. He was deported for being in the US without a visa.

I suggest that Wyomingites should try researching issues instead of believing everything in the mass media or social media. We used to take pride in educating ourselves.

Why is that no longer true?

Wyomingites need to learn that people color the truth. They must dig deep to learn the truth.

The internet makes it easy to find both lies and the truth, you just need to take time and sort through it all.

The civil proceedings on Garcia are a matter of public record. Read the case and judgement.

If you don’t understand legalese there is always Google or the dictionary to define them for you.

Wyoming was the first state to give women the right to vote because Wyomingites were smart, socially aware and had common sense.

We need to have those traits now more than ever.

Don’t buy all that stuff people are selling just because they tell you it’s true.

Find out the truth for yourself.

Sincerely,

Susan Deth
