Dear editor:
I obviously do not live in Wyoming, however I do have friends who do.
I follow the Cowboy State Daily just to keep up with what is going on in the state.
I have been following the articles on the LaPrele Dam with interest mainly because I see a lot of, "Woe is me! Whatever can I do?"
I don't see anyone talking about a solution to the problem.
I am no engineer but to my eyes the solution seems to be, build another dam a little downstream of the original while the original is still holding.
To my uneducated eye the terrain slightly downstream from the current dam appears to have some places where this could occur.
With new modern technology and building materials, my thoughts are that it won't take as long to build a new dam as it did the original.
Is this even being contemplated? If not it should be.
Seems like there are a lot of people downstream who would benefit from a new dam.
