State Sen. John Kolb, R-Rock Springs, easily held on to his seat Tuesday night, beating Democratic challenger and former state legislator Kenilynn Zanetti by 2,486 votes.

Kolb, who was first elected in 2020, is a firm Second Amendment supporter and a fiscal conservative.

He wants to reduce the amount of time people can claim unemployment in Wyoming by about three to four weeks, an effort he already tried addressing through legislation in 2023. Kolb also wants to cut mandatory state contributions to the state’s unemployment trust fund, which he believes is adequately funded for the future.
