Accused of breaking into another woman’s trailer house, stealing a blow torch and drugs, biting people then trying to seduce a cop, an Afton, Wyoming, woman could face up to 11.5 years in prison.
Alisa Jean Gimlin, 32, faces one count of burglary, one count of misdemeanor theft and two of battery. The first charge is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and $10,000 in fines, while the latter three carry maximum penalties of six months in jail and $750 apiece.
She’s scheduled for a Sept. 17 arraignment in Lincoln County District Court.
Bit My Roommate
The investigation started about 9:48 the evening of Aug. 13, when Lincoln County dispatch told Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Kale McGee that a woman contacted them to say another woman had broken into her trailer house in Etna and bit her roommate, according to an evidentiary affidavit filed in the case.
The homeowner wasn’t at the trailer house yet. She was on her way from Alpine to Etna, but she was in touch with her male roommate, who was reportedly still at the trailer.
On scene, McGee spoke with the male roommate. He said he’d crossed the neighborhood to check on his dog, then went back to his roommate’s trailer and discovered a small red-haired woman he knew as “Alisa” exiting the homeowner’s trailer with a blue blowtorch in her hand, says the affidavit.
He confronted her and asked what she was doing.
The small red-haired woman, identified as Gimlin, started to push and shove him, then she bit his right shoulder before retreating into a male neighbor’s trailer, reportedly.
The affidavit says McGee noted a visible bite mark on the male roommate’s right shoulder.
Next Trailer
At the male neighbor’s trailer, McGee met with the neighbor outside his front door.
“Please do something,” pleaded the neighbor, reportedly.
“I could hear Gimlin inside the trailer, saying, ‘What’s up motherf***er,’” wrote McGee in the affidavit.
McGee asked Gimlin to come outside, and she did.
But she also grabbed the male neighbor’s genitals and started making explicit comments about wanting to sleep with McGee, the document says.
McGee asked Gimlin “why she bit the other guy,” but she wouldn’t answer, “and would only make sexual comments toward me,” wrote the deputy.
Under Arrest
McGee told Gimlin she was under arrest and handcuffed her.
Wearing only a large hoodie, she allegedly kept trying to seduce him during the walk to the patrol vehicle. The deputy warned her that if she didn’t get into the vehicle, she’d face extra charges.
Emergency medical personnel were on their way, and McGee was worried Gimlin was heavily intoxicated. When she fell forward toward his patrol vehicle, she “tapped” her head on the door and started screaming as if in pain, says the affidavit.
McGee reportedly lifted her into his vehicle and told her emergency personnel could check on her head when they arrived.
Where Are The Pills?
The female homeowner arrived at her trailer around that time. McGee asked her to do a walk-through and see if anything besides the blowtorch was missing.
The affidavit says the homeowner claimed to be missing about 12 prescription opioid pills and $400. The document doesn’t explain whether these items were ever found.
Lincoln County Sheriff Shane Johnson told Cowboy State Daily on Friday that as far as he knows, the pills weren’t found.
McGee wrote that the male neighbor handed him the blue blowtorch. The male neighbor also was bleeding from his right ear and cheek. He claimed Gimlin had bit and scratched him.
The deputy couldn’t find a bite mark, but indicated in the affidavit that the neighbor’s ear was scratched.
Downhill
Gimlin did not appear to have an injury from falling into the vehicle door, says the document.
Deputies took her to the Afton holding facility, and dragged her — highly intoxicated — into a cell because she couldn’t stand up, reportedly.
Her condition was deteriorating, so they called emergency personnel again and had the woman taken to Star Valley Medical Center, says the affidavit.
