The 20-year-old Lovell woman who had been missing since Saturday night was located safely in Montana on Wednesday night.

Liana Welde was picked up in Billings around 8 p.m. by the Billings Police Department and transported back to Wyoming by the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office.

She was safe and unharmed, said Big Horn County Sheriff, Ken Blackburn.

Welde had been reported missing by family Sunday morning and was last seen by her sister at about 9 p.m. Saturday night.

She had left on foot without her cellphone and wallet and was considered endangered.

The Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office initiated a large-scale, multi-agency search and tips from the public helped place her in Montana.

Although Welde has gone missing for short periods in the past, this is the longest she’s been gone without contacting someone, Blackburn has said.

Sheriff Blackburn credited Desirée Tinoco, executive director of the Missing People of Wyoming Facebook page and nonprofit, as being instrumental in locating Welde.

“These sites truly make a difference,” he said.
