Read Leo Wolfson's article on taxes. Most assessors get it right.
They are compelled by law to revalue as property goes up, or down, in value. But there's a simple solution: lower the multiplier.
Happened to me in Teton County, Idaho. My assessed value went up over 50% last year. They lowered the multiplier, and I actually paid a fewer dollars less than the previous year.
