Dear Editor:
I couldn’t agree more with Ms. Belisle from Sheridan regarding our need for a Convention of States, as provided by Article 5 of The Constitution.
Furthermore, one who is concerned about a so-called “runaway convention” should know that it takes agreement among 34-states to propose an amendment and then 38-states have to ratify that amendment before it changes the Constitution.
That’s a bit over 75% of the states and not exactly a “runaway “ situation. It would do us all some good to urge our legislators to support a Convention of States.
Sincerely,
Peter Thieriot
