Plane Crash in Cheyenne; Fire At Storage Facility

The Cheyenne Police Department is reporting an airplane crashed into a storage facility on Monday. The department said it believes the plane is an experimental aircraft.

The Cheyenne Police Department on Monday reported a downed airplane at a storage unit facility in the city.

Shortly after 9 a.m., the department said the plane, which was believed to be an experimental aircraft, went down at Cheyenne Storage, located at 616 Crook. Ave.

“It is believed that one person was onboard the aircraft at the time of the incident,” the department said without providing any information on the person’s status.

A photo released by the department show the Cheyenne Fire Department on the scene extinguishing a blaze caused by the accident.

Nationway is closed traveling East and police ask the public to avoid the area.
