If you purchased a Cowboy Draw ticket at the Daniel Junction Foodmart in Sublette County recently, you’ll want to check your numbers.
The winning ticket was pulled on Monday and someone just won $2,277,420 in the Cowboy Draw game.
The winning numbers are 1-10-22-31-39.
"Good Publicity"
The food mart, about 68 miles south of Jackson, is more than 100 years old and has been owned by Seth and Kim Keehn for the last 17 years.
“It’s really good news for somebody,” Seth told Cowboy State Daily on Tuesday, acknowledging that all his store may get out of it is a poster stating that the winner was drawn there.
“But it’s good publicity for us,” he said.
The store, on its Facebook page, sounded quite excited for the lucky person.
“We are all so happy for the lucky winner!!!! All of us here at Daniel Junction!!” a store representative wrote.
History Of Winning
Seth said they sold about 200 tickets from his store in this round of the Cowboy Draw game.
The store has had 22 winners over the last 10 years but the biggest before this $2 million payout had been $1,000 last October.
People were mostly congratulatory toward the unknown winner on the Wyoming Lottery’s Facebook page, although some think they deserve a portion of the winnings.
“After what I paid into that jackpot, I think the winner should buy me dinner,” said Amy Wild-Capelli.
Radio station 102.7 FM KAPK in Sublette County wrote what many people in the area may be thinking.
“A winner here in Sublette county and we want to be your best friend!” the station said.
Don't Ask, Don't Tell
The name of the winner may never be known.
In Wyoming, if a lottery winner requests to be anonymous, WyoLotto will honor that.
Although this payout is large, it’s not a record for Wyoming.
The biggest winner in the Cowboy State was back in 2016 when someone won $5 million at a Maverik convenience store in Evanston.
