Letter To The Editor: Dave Simpson Is Right But Also Really, Really Wrong

Dear editor: It’s hard to disagree with your columnist Dave Simpson’s conclusion that the country is suffering from “Trump Derangement Syndrome," but his diagnosis desperately needs some mirror time.

Dear editor:

It’s hard to disagree with your columnist Dave Simpson’s conclusion that the country is suffering from “Trump Derangement Syndrome," but his diagnosis desperately needs some mirror time.

Beating a capitol policeman bloody with a U.S. flagpole gets a full pardon, but tossing a ham sandwich at an ICE agent should get you jail time?  That’s deranged.

We’re all for free speech, but not if you say nasty things about people we like (Charlie Kirk).  Deranged.

Let’s all root for Elon Musk’s indiscriminate firing of federal employees who were easy pickings due to “provisional” status.  Not provisional because of poor performance, but because they had just gotten promotions. Deranged.

“The national debt is a 'despicable' (Simpson), yet the Trumpsters 'Big, Beautiful Bill' adds $3.4 trillion to our debt over the next 10 years (Congressional Budget Office).  Deranged.

“Deranged - wildly irrational or uncontrolled”.  The tariffs on China are 20%, no, 50%; no, 135%; I meant 127%; just kidding, 54%; wait, 58%.

I promise to release all the Epstein files; there are no Epstein files; no release votes will be tolerated; sure, go ahead and vote to release.

No wonder Trump acolytes are feeling deranged trying to keep up.  Who wouldn’t?
