One person is dead following a shooting outside of the King Soopers supermarket in northeast Cheyenne on Saturday evening.
According to a statement from the Cheyenne Police Department, officers were sent to the 3700 block of Dell Range Blvd. at 9:06 p.m. after hearing reports of shots fired in the area.
Officers located one person with an apparent gunshot wound who was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say a second individual believed to be the suspect was taken into custody.
A heavy police presence remained in the area. The department said there was no ongoing threat to the public.
The supermarket is the anchor tenant of the strip mall which also includes three restaurants, gas station, and a few other small businesses.
