Dear editor:
According to the Oxford dictionary, the adjective ‘venal’ refers to ‘someone that is corrupt, willing to be bribed, or easily influenced by money.’
Take a good look at this current administration. Look at their faces, their gestures, their admonitions against the truth.
Nary a one would or could answer a straight ‘yes or no’ question during hearings, interviews, panels, or meetings.
The lies which they utter are so obvious as to be laughable, but the situation in America, with this corrupt line of ‘leaders,’ is dire, not funny.
Some, like Hegseth, come off as slick frat-boys at a beer-pong party. Smirk smirk. Nah, bruh, I’m not endorsing Confederate Bragg, it’s a DIFFERENT Bragg.
C’mon.
Our sole congresswoman, Harriet Hageman, is dismissive and arrogant, like Lina Lamont, a silent film star mugging for her fan base only. She lies, and plays the victim/heroine of her own selfish drama.
Others, such as Linda McMahon, are chirpy and vapid, one false eyelash askew over her teleprompter squint. Blink blink.
Kristi Noem has an unabashed silicone Instaface, paid for with grift. Look at her, a combination of mean girl, vacant mannequin, and cruel racist. Pose, change, pose.
The Orange Emperor is slimy. Greasy, eyes sunken into whitened puffs of fat and fraud, he spits like a figure from Hieronymus Bosch’s Hell. Salivate, sweat, salivate. He's making money hand over fist.
Guarding the Crusty Gold-leafed Has-Been stands the Warner Brothers cartoon bulldog, Tom Homan, bigoted bully. Bow wow. Grrrr.
These people belong on the Post Office wall.
Venal: showing or motivated by susceptibility to bribery.
Their faces and actions say it all.
