Dear editor:

My reference is to Mr. Begich's willingness to invest time and significant financial resources into breathing life back into the Star Plunge.

From reading the story about the community meeting, (I was not present), it appears that Mr. Begich is sincere in his efforts and plans to create a destination for both locals and travelers alike.

His responses to questions were balanced and not defensive. His proposed ideas included positive references to the local economy.

And most significantly was the mention of workforce housing. That topic is very predominant throughout locations that see an influx of not only travelers, but also new residents.

Throughout the Rocky Mountain States, as well as across the country, attractions, outdoor recreation, sightseeing, and other activities need workers, and those workers need homes.

The wait and see approach to the proposed plans for the Star Plunge is valid, and I for one think Thermopolis as well as the surrounding communities will like what they see.

Sincerely,

Pete Critelli
